I have learned my first name is actually a rare Dutch surname. As a little black kid growing up in Cleveland, Ohio, I used to hate my name (I had people address me by my second name). Now I LOVE my first name.

...I do wish I had a cooler last name, though.

Yeah, John. I guess so. Kinda like Chris in that it's very common. I think it's a good name. I was named after my Grandfather. Most people call me JD though of cause.

So is your first name actually St. Martin or just Martin? If St. Martin is your entire first name, that is cool as hell!

I love my name, Cara. It's not strange, but it's also not very common. It means "beloved" in Italian, and I like how it's spelled. I think it looks ugly when spelled with a K.

My name is one lettter.

J

That's it. It isn't an initial or anything. That is my full first name.

It sucks ass. I have to explain, sometimes for 10 minutes or more, that it really is my full first name.

I have had the DMV not be able to enter a one letter name into their computer and they had to put my middle initial in there also (which is also J.) just so the computer could put a name on my drivers liscense.

It's a pain in the ass.

Yes, I like my name very much. My parents named me Amber after my mom read the book "Forever Amber" when she was pregnant with me. When I was growing up, I was the only one I knew with this name. It was hard sometimes as every other little girl was Susan, Debbie, Mary etc., but now I really like my name. I've noticed that a lot of strippers and porn stars like it too which doesn't amuse me too much pissed

Dunno how my father came up with "Teller."

As a kid it was a pain in the ass name to have, lots of teasing...but as an adult, it's cool, and it's nice to be the only one. smile

I totally buy it. I have a cousin whose first and second names are also J and J.

It's family lore that his mom has never played with a full deck.
