I was born Jan. 24th of '85 and can surprisingly remember 88' and on...
I remember:
-seeing 'Roger Rabbit' at the theater
-seeing 'Batman' at the theater twice!
-giant cell phones w/extension-cord-like cords
-the original Pro-Wings (remember those?)
-cabbage patch dolls and cartoons
-when HBO, Showtime and Cinemax showed movies in their entirety!!!
and...

the first original child-size (Power Wheels) Barbie corvette...and after all those years I still have mine!!

I wish I could go back to the 80's too. But since a time machine hasn't been invented yet, we've just gotta roll with the new. I love the 80's as much as everyone here, maybe even moreso, but we'll always have the music, the movies, the memories and the embarrassments to think of.

Why, because of AIDS, crack, homelessness, unemployment, Reaganomics, the bad economy, the ongoing Cold War, Oliver North, and that episode of Dallas where Victoria Principal realizes that Patrick Duffy's character, Bobby, is stll alive and taking a shower?

Hey! I loved all those dance movies and Stayin Alive was my favorite! I remember trying to jazz dance in the parking lot after the movie! I still have the soundtrack: a 2 lp set that opens up.

I have the soundtrack of Return of the Jedi on vinyl too, with the ewok song!

Thompson Twins were sooo cool. Do you have any cds by Babble? The girl and the red-haired guy got married and created a few albums of ambient/new wave/East Indian influenced music. Very cool.

The Karate Kid is up there with the Star Wars movies for me. I see it like the Yoda/Luke mentor/student thing. I gotta see that again soon. Bonsaaaiii!
