I was sitting at my desk, working and minding my own business, when the cellphone of one of my co-workers, one of the salesmen, rang several times. At first, the salesman didn't hear it, because he was in a meeting with the door closed. The second time it rang, he opened the door and came tearing out like someone running a marathon trying to pick up the phone before it stopped ringing. Of course, by the time the salesman got to his desk, the phone was no longer ringing. He got concerned, because I guess he must have caller I.D. on his cellphone, and must have seen that it was someone from home calling him. He called back, and I overheard him ask his daughter if his wife had called him. The daughter responded, no, that she was the one who had called him. I heard him ask his daughter why she had called, then he said to her, "Honey, you can't call me at work about that! Love you, bye." The salesman hung up the cell phone and informed us that his young daughter just called to let him know that the television was not working. We all started laughing (the office I work at is small and we all get along well). It was hysterical the way the salesman came running out of the meeting to return the phone call, only to discover it was about the television not working. I guess you had to be there to really appreciate just how funny it was. Strange how a child's perception of what is important is different than that of an adult's.
