What do you think of thread jacking?

It didn't used to be this way ... I remember when threads used to get locked, or people warned if they went off topic.

I kinda like the way some threads go off-topic, especially if they do so in a humerous way. But thread jacking seems to be the norm nowadays.

Do you welcome it, tolerate it, encourage it ... or does it get on your nerves. Or, if you're a jacker ... do you get a secret thrill from it? wink

Enlighten me, folks! biggrin

It all depends on the topic doesn't it? I love it when some pretentious ass thread or an inane one gets jacked and nobody complains, that's poetry biggrin

But the way some people (even ones that I like) customarily jacks all threads the opst on gets a bit tedious at times, I feel they could stick to the pretentious or inane threads and play that game. There are plenty of those around anyway.

Sometimes the nature of the post will send peoples minds onto something else and the discussion will natrually go off course. There's nothing wrong with that.

Personally i think it's a shame when people have their own little conversation during someone else's post.
I wouldn't let it annoy me though. It's just a shame people can't be a little more thoughtful.
