I almost always have a difficult time accepting compliments, and often I will just pretend I didn't hear the person or I'll point out a reason why what they said isn't true. It's a Catch-22, because it feels like if I thank them for the compliment, it means I agree. On the other hand, when I don't say anything or ignore it, guys have thought I was a stuck up bitch. Even when men know how self-conscious I feel and I've explained why, they still seem to get frustrated with me and seem to be more concerned that they get thanked and acknowledged than that I believe in myself, lol... I don't handle compliments well. Whatever I'm complimented on I make like it's really no big deal.
I might compliment a guy on something like his wardrobe, or cologne, but I NEVER come straight out with something like, DAYUM, You fine! It makes me cringe when I hear women tell a man that. I'm not sure why, either. It's like she's trying too hard to flatter him. He prolly already knows he's the sh*t, why blow him up even more? Then maybe she's fishing for a compliment in return? | |

Yes and no...
If I feel good about myself, then yes I can handle them, if not, I can be really shy, almost unbelievingly so, and hate compliments, about me, my looks etc. But compliments to my work and creative talent, I can accept, just as well as I accept constructive criticism. Yes I do compliment men too, alot, I think women should compliment men as much as vice versa, but an empty meaningless compliment is one not wanted at all. | |

I think it depends on who's complimenting me and what I'm being complimented on. Generally I smile and say a sincere thank you. But sometimes I blush...  |

I am a little shy...so I do blush a bit and maybe giggle...when I get a compliment. But, I do appreciate compliments and smile and say thank you.
Also, I love to give compliments when and where they are warranted. I would never be insincere about it. | |

Depends on who the compliment is coming from and whether they are being genuine but normally I would say thank U.
I'm definately one girl that can't help but blush though I am not shy about dishing out compliments either, but only when they are well deserved. | |
