Ladies, how do you handle compliments?

Do you appreciate it when a man tells you you're pretty or beautiful?

Are you too shy to react.

Can you do without the compliments?

Do you compliment men?

I was just talking to a guy about this the other night, lol.

I almost always have a difficult time accepting compliments, and often I will just pretend I didn't hear the person or I'll point out a reason why what they said isn't true. It's a Catch-22, because it feels like if I thank them for the compliment, it means I agree. On the other hand, when I don't say anything or ignore it, guys have thought I was a stuck up bitch. Even when men know how self-conscious I feel and I've explained why, they still seem to get frustrated with me and seem to be more concerned that they get thanked and acknowledged than that I believe in myself, lol...

I know how annoying it is when other people do it, but I still do it. boxed

97% of the compliments i hear from men are of the "hey shortie, you got a man? c'mere, lemme talk to ya!"-type variety, which is extremely annoying. i ain't one for small talk, anyway.

You guys, if you're fabulous, dammit, you're just fabulous! There is totally nothing wrong with acknowledging it or agreeing with others who do.

Arrogance is one thing, but you should be confident to be your own biggest advocate/fan. Just consider all those years that went into becoming who you are now. Just say thank you.

I'm always thankful for compliments, even if it comes from a person who seems out of it and all of dat  tis true!
So long as the person is being sincere and isn't trying to test or stroke my ego nod it's always nice to get a lil noticed aesthetically speaking, but especially for qualities like personality and talent and stuff. butterfly

I get shy when I get compliments because I don't believe them when I hear them. I appreciate them, just as long as it doesn't turn into non-meaningful flirting
