It's actualy simular to the taste of porck !!
I think it's the worst fish you can get served on a plate
good thing is you can drink a chianti with it, which you need to get rid of the taste !

Isn't it all relative?

To people who cannot afford it (how much younger is your younger sister? If she is in high school or college, she most likely cannot afford it on her own. Just a thought...) Red Lobster is the finest dining they can afford or want to afford.

For an example, take Chemmie's old comment about taking the underprivilaged kids to Olive Garden. wink It was made fun of a lot around here but to those children Olive Garden was a luxury.

It's all relative.

I believe Darden Restaurants in general (Owners of Olive Garden, Red Lobster, Smokey Bones, Bahama Breeze and some new health place) have taken their quality up a notch in recent years. They are much better than they used to be and when I used to not go near those places, I love Red Lobster and Bahama Breeze now! They make a very nice night out to dinner for me and at a smaller budget. As for italian, nothing short of Maggiano's will do for me. That is a luxury in my book. mmm...

They've improved in recent years, but Red Lobster had long been the Long John Silver's of sit-down restaurants. The fish was bland and overcooked, the menu was shallow and had too much fried stuff and everything seemed covered in a coat of grease.

Since they expanded their menu to include more shellfish and fewer battered-and-fried items, they've gotten considerably better. But I still wouldn't call them "fancy."

No, it's fast food, good fast food, but still fast food.
I like the popcorn shrimp though...

I wouldn't care where a guy took me to eat on a date, I could care less if the place was fancy or not. I dont think a person should try and go out of their way to impress somebody, either that person loves you for you and not what you can give them or they dont love you at all.

i'm from a small city in eastern Canada...so bear with me (translation: we don't have a Red Lobster within 2 hours from home) I wouldn't classify it as fancy but the one and only time i've eaten there i REALLY enjoyed it. I ate there when in Hawaii and for an appetizer we had the Artichoke, spinich and lobster dip...drool absolutely fucking incredible. I had Mahi-Mahi and Shrimp Scampi as a main course...best fish i have ever had...flame broiled with a little lemon...to die for (and i'm from the Maritimes...we're famous for our seafood!!!) but the best thing...them garlic butter biscuits...i dream about them. we smuggled 1/2dozen from the restaurant in my purse...if i stick my face right in the purse, i can still smell them. ahhh...

you're only as old as you feel..............so how old do i feel horny

Now that food has replaced sex in my life, I can't even get into my own pants.

Since I'm a semi-resident of Maine, lobster doesn't impress me. I think it was something like $2.99 per pound last summer. My move toward a vegan diet aside, I've tended to avoid eating seafood in the midwest.

A few years ago my then-wife and I went to Red Lobster (for the first and only time) because she had been given a gift certificate. After the waiter informed me that my first three fish choices were not available, I finally had to ask what they did have. rolleyes
