No, but I sometimes dream I'm a pirate. confuse

What do you do? I know you work in a law firm are you a lawyer?

I'm a paralegal, but i do EXACTLY the same thing as a lawyer. Lawyers in personal injury work in Australia never do there own Court appearances, which is the only thing I cant do. We brief barristers to appear in Court but we investigate and prepare all the cases.

It sounds interesting but it's high pressured and bores me silly at the same time. confused

Being a paralegal is real messed up, huh?

It's more that it's a little odd working as a "lawyer" amongst qualified lawyers when you are not qualified yourself.

Luckily, I'm pretty good at what I do I get paid the same as a qaulified lawyer (employee) of the same experience. More or less anyway.

I'm just sick of it but cant leave cos I'll never get paid anywhere near as well doing anything else.

hmmm maybe I should become a paralegal

You know what? You should start your own paralegal business and handle divorces, custodies, and bankruptcies. These people make some money in the states

The law is different here. The only thing you can do as a paralegal (in your own business) is in conveyancing *yuck!*.

Otherwise, you need a qualified lawyer in your company, even if they dont do the work. confused

Oooh, then that's really fucked up

I don't think paralegals get the same pay as lawyers do here in the states...

They dont usually get the same pay here either! Far from it.

I'm just a special case smile (well, there are about 4-5 others in the industry).

It's very difficult to explain.

Uhh I think someone is doing some special favors for their boss wink

I hate one of my bosses!

The other one is cool though.

That is the worst for the longest time I hated my boss...then he became cool and we started getting along and now he treats me like his own daughter big grin

When you work at the Bunny Ranch, though, you can't pick and choose whom you want to have sex with or what you want to do. Halitosis, nasty teeth, greasy, smelly, asshole personality--they all got to be laid! And it's always about the other person's pleasure...

I just couldn't do it. disbelief

YES!

I teach five and six year old English at a school in Thailand, and do a few adult and kids classes (9 and 10 year olds) at a learning centre.

Twenty-three 6 year olds running all over the place while u're trying to teach them plural nouns or articles?

Definitely underpaid nod

I only get about the equivalent of $650 a month. disbelief

Of course, here that allows me to live like a king and there are many potential business opportunites in Thailand being a foreigner with a computer, a few contacts and a little money.

big grin

But that's not the point.
