So, you think you're getting underpaid for what you do?

Believe it or not, you're in the minority. 53% of Americans think they're paid what they deserve.

hmmm I'm thinking I should get a job at the Bunny Ranch...

Oh man, I DEFINITELY am underpaid for what I do. I'm waiting for this economy to turn around before I start looking for something better though. For right now, I gotta stay put.

I'm a paralegal, but i do EXACTLY the same thing as a lawyer. Lawyers in personal injury work in Australia never do there own Court appearances, which is the only thing I cant do. We brief barristers to appear in Court but we investigate and prepare all the cases.

It sounds interesting but it's high pressured and bores me silly at the same time. confused

It's more that it's a little odd working as a "lawyer" amongst qualified lawyers when you are not qualified yourself.

Luckily, I'm pretty good at what I do I get paid the same as a qaulified lawyer (employee) of the same experience. More or less anyway.

I'm just sick of it but cant leave cos I'll never get paid anywhere near as well doing anything else.

I get the same benefits and pay.

I just hate the job.

The only benefit of me going to school to get a law degree and admission would be if I wanted partnership in the firm (which is where the big money is i.e $400,000 plus). However, i have no desire for that pressure or to work 80 hours a week and not have a life doing something I hate.

The law is different here. The only thing you can do as a paralegal (in your own business) is in conveyancing *yuck!*.

Otherwise, you need a qualified lawyer in your company, even if they dont do the work. confused

people in the health care industry (except doctors etc) are exploited.

It is mostly women who work in the area, and most do it because they care, or they love it. The general public and government still see many of the jobs as traditional womens jobs and pay accordingly. There needs to be a revolution!
