Bill is known as being "America's Dad" by his own choice and has always talked about family values and protrayed this on his shows. He has always portrayed himself a being "perfect." He set himself up because it is obvious that he is not perfect. No one is. The problem is he still acts as if he's perfect and his family is better than others. He disses the Osbournes, Wanda Sykes, and gay t.v. as if he's any better and he's not. That's how he comes off self-righteous. That's my problem with him as a person. I still love his shows | |

He has called other people's family said as in his fans who are female who come to see him and act overzealous at his concerts or who dress porvacatively like he had his protege's do in What Do U Want Me To Do---'didnt your mama teach u right"? etc he has publicly made fun of quincy onmstage by teasing him with his lillipop at the we are the world reunion portion with contemp as well as rosie odonanllejust making light of is symbol tafkap and in his interview on BET with Tavis He has publicly in interview laughed at Rodney King being beat (Spin I think) Yes he has spoken on th e ebonics issue th e same way Cosby has...I have to research that one but I bet my life he did becasue I remmeber reading about his views on "being able to find a job with ebonics vs english" from a few years ago When I said ye she has done all of these things I was wonderng if I was going to be taken to task to just have all this evcidence at my beck and call just becasue someone got defensiveok, well I didn't see all of that. My apologies. However he had every right to have contempt of people making fun of his name change on national t.v. right in front of him. Rosie gets on my nerves anyway. I did, however, mention that I think there is a big difference when someone portrays themself as a wholesome family man who knows how other people should act and condemns them for not acting the right way when he himself doesn't act the right way and didn't then. So, you're saying Prince blamed the families of the girls who act overzealous and dress provacatively? Teasing someone with a lollipop is showing contempt? yes I am ..and thats not bad for someting just off the cuff..Im positve there are other more substantial accounts of this behavior as well that do not come immediately to mind...I mean this is prince we are talking about here I don't see how Prince and Bill are the same.
yeah I know u dont...it's quite obvious and it's quite obvious you don't think image is importantum...wrong...even though it has noting to do with the fact that the same thats being said of bill can be said of prince which is what we have been talking about and I have proven...but that's ok. ok, but this thread was about Bill. Even though what's being said of Bill can be said of Prince, it is different. It is diffeent because these people are putting out completely different images. This can also be said about the other people you mentioned: R. Kelly, Jerry Lewis, and MJJ Okay I kind of se whewre u are comong from...that Bill has adifferent inmage then as coming off as self rigtewous and better than others..ok I can see that distinction and how thaty makes what his recent negative attitudes seem more disturbing etc...OK I get it now if thats what you meant. Boy was I off on the wrong foot lol if so. That's exactly what I've been saying. Bill is known as being "America's Dad" by his own choice and has always talked about family values and protrayed this on his shows. He has always portrayed himself a being "perfect." He set himself up because it is obvious that he is not perfect. No one is. The problem is he still acts as if he's perfect and his family is better than others. He disses the Osbournes, Wanda Sykes, and gay t.v. as if he's any better and he's not. That's how he comes off self-righteous. That's my problem with him as a person. I still love his showsYou're correct about Bill Cosby dissing the Osbornes. I remember Bill saying the Osbornes were "a sad family", and Ozzy getting upset because he admired Bill as an entertainer. I also remember Sharon Osborne lashing out and releasing a public statement defending her family. I still like Bill Cosby as an entertainer, regardless of his faults, the same way that I do Prince.
