More Batman: Intimidation movie news!

I lifted this from Superherohype. Cool stuff if its true:

Exclusive Batman: Intimidation Scoop!! Source: Enigma Tuesday, January 6, 2004

Batman fans, are you ready? We hope you are, because Christopher Nolan's new Batman film is sounding better and better every day.

A Superhero Hype! source - who shall be called 'Enigma' - has confirmed that filming will indeed take place in Iceland. As you may have read here, the Warner Bros. production will shoot there for two weeks. What was not revealed was what will be filmed. We've got the exclusive scoop for you, but it's definitely spoiler material, so cover your eyes now if you'd rather not know...

Still here? Of course you are. In the scene, Batman, played by Christian Bale, will be fighting on ice with Ra's Al Ghul's #1 pupil (who that is, you'll have to figure out). They won't be fighting for real, however, as it is more of a training exercise.

We're also told by our source that Batman: Intimidation is a cross between Year One and Year Two and that it's interwoven very creatively. So start thinking about which characters appeared in each and you might get an idea. The film is also said to be very story-driven.

Of course you want to hear about the costume. Let's just say that the costume concept the production is using is awesome! Just wait and see...

i hear Catwoman is being re-shot and/or delayed, so that it doesn't fuck up the momentum of the new wave of DC movies before any of them get to the screen.

Naw, He's definitely his own man. I'm actually just as into film as he is, but he covers those bases nicely. I've noticed there are lots of geeks and closet geeks on the Org, so I provide them with their much needed fix!

True. WB's execs are having Batman & Robin flashbacks because of the film, and are thinking of delaying it until after the new Bat flick is released. They don't want this pile of cat turds to fuck up the franchise for another seven years.

Yes, it makes you a geek as well! Be proud!!

Wonder Woman is in the early stages of development. Apparently WB got smart and shelved the previous project based on her (which had a truly lame plot) and have started from scratch. The new script is suppossedly much more in line with her comic roots. Its about time that DC's main heroine got her own big budget flick!!

I agree. It may very well get changed before its all said and done. I'm not too worried about that, though. If everything I'm hearing about the flick is true, I'll forgive the hoaky title.

Well, if that can't find an unknown with the right physique, as well as a bit of Greek blood in her, then Catherine would be fine with me. Jennifer Garner would also be good, since she's already in the right shape (and it wouldn't be the first time she played a Greek chick who could kick ass, even if she herself isn't greek).

Y'know, when I was a kid I was a total Marvel Zombie as well. Then the nineties hit, and Marvel went through their god-awful period. During that time I discovered a lot of the great characters that DC has in their stable. Now, I read both companies books almost evenly.

Hands-down, Bats is my favorite of the DC characters, so I'm pretty excited about the prospect of finally seeing a film about the Dark Knight done properly!

eh... i dunno. DC was pretty crap at the same time. they DID have better quality books more frequently, but when they were bad (and they usually were) they were even worse than Marvel. in fact, they were still doing mega-crossovers even just a year ago. eek!

Well, I agree somewhat. DC had all the Vertigo stuff at that time, and that goes a long way with me. Still, I got fed up with Marvel at the time because every fucking book was holo-foiled, bagged with twelve different covers and NO STORY!!!I think I probably noticed it more with Marvel, because it was such a drastic decline in quality. I hated seeing the characters I loved pimped-out in such a disgraceful manner.

No, but I've always heard great things about it. I know the character was created by Steve Ditko, so it had a strong Objectivist angle to it. Did the O'Neil/Cowan run stay consistent with that, or did it shy away? I always thought the idea of a super-hero who follows Ayn Rand to be a rather interesting one. Strange I've enver read it.

a full scale Gotham City has currently been built close to J13 of the M1 in a disused airfield. The rest of the film is being shot down in Pinewood and all the fittings for the characters were done at Leavesden where the current Harry Potter is being filmed.

there is a strong chance i can get to go on set either at Pinewood or the airfield if so i will try and take photos to post here.

if not i will post a photo of me in my crew t-shirt!

More on the Iceland Batman Filming Location Source: Latino Review Tuesday, January 6, 2004

A scooper for Latino Review contacted SagaFilm Iceland about the upcoming filming there for Batman: Intimidation which we talked about here. Here's bits of what they revealed...

-Filming takes place in Höfn, Iceland (South-east Iceland) near the glacier lake Jokulsarlon (where Die Another Day filmed).
-Location is said to be both green and icy.
-Set construction has already started.
-Filming starts late February, for approximately 2 weeks, right into March.

What the fucking fuck? The 90's were my golden age of comics. Neil Gaiman's "Sandman", Garth Ennis's run on "Hellblazer" and all that over wild Vertigo stuff. Vertigo was part of DC. Over in DC mainstream, you had Grant Morrison doing "Justice League" and Garth Ennis doing "Hitman"!

Sandman and Hellblazer are the good things I was talking about.

As good as Morrison is, his JL was a mess.

I've yet to see what the big deal about Ennis is...

the 90's were a pretty ugly time for comic books.
