TRON

Are you related to anyone famous?

Apparently several generations back on my mother's side, Mark Twain is an uncle of mine.

Also someone named William Brewster who was the captain or something or other of the Mayflower. I don't know much about him.

Who you got?

He's up there somewhere, a great great uncle of sorts. My Opa (grandfather on dad's side) has journals and hats of his. Everything else is pretty much in museums.

My grandfather was the head coach for the Oakland Raiders in Super Bowl 2. The Raiders lost to Vince Lombardi and the Packers that year. John Madden and Bill Walsh were coaches under him. Some attribute him to being the inventor of what would be known as the West Coast Offense. He was just recently inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame for when he played at the University of Georgia.

no one famous in the bloodline, but a family member was supposedly killed by Pancho Villa - the rebel general of the Mexican Revolution who invaded US territory and led American soldiers on a wild goose chase all over the harsh Mexican countryside for months.

Lillian Gish was my great-aunt. Not exactly a supermegastar these days, but back in her day she was a huge movie star - she starred in D.W. Griffith silent films, and I think the last movie she made before she died was in the '80s - "The Whales of August".

Or was it Benny Hill? smile

No, I'm kidding.

Our family friend's daughter is Rhona Mitra, original model for Lara Croft (Tomb Raider) and now in Party of Five I think.
I stayed in her house in Ireland once- full of very cute dogs.

Wait, that's not a relation. Oh sod it, I thought I'd mention it anyway.

My uncle owns Dome Records, the home of uk soul music? He singed Beverly Knight, and Rick Astley when he was at Chrysalis, and used to work for CBS Sony, presenting Michael Jackson with his UK Platinum disc for 'Off The Wall'.

So, no, not really. big grin
