i used to really hate my name cos no one could pronouce...that ain't changed i suppose 
i went to uni and let everyone call me Sam...for the first few weeks then changed my mind thinking fook it...these ppl will LEARN how to pronounce my name 
now i love it cos its unusual and its ME!! 
but now everyone thinks is a bloody stage name

I too have learned to like my name. It is hebrew and I was named after both of my grandfathers. As a child I was constantly teased and to this day people insist I am a boy until they see me. I even had to have the "I am a girl" argument with the guy that comes to you house when you turn 18 to sign you up for selective service. But as I said...I have grown to like my name. Besides...There are only like 12 other people with my name anywhere. (exaggeration, I know but for real there really are extremely few.)
