21 Grams

I saw it last night, and it was amazing! The acting was incredible; Sean Penn and Benicio Del Toro were awesome. If anyone hasn't seen it yet, I suggest you do. It's only playing in some cities right now, but it opens everywhere on January 9th. It's definitely, in my opinion, the best movie of the year so far... wink

You should! I've been on a steady diet of 'indie' films this past year, and "In America" is at the top of the heap, along with "21 grams" for this year. "Whale Rider" and "Capturing the Friedmans" were my faves from last year, along with "Spellbound". I'm going to see "Girl With The Pearl Earring" tonight. "The Station Agent", "Monster" and "Shattered Glass" were pretty good too, but not great, imo. Damn, that's a lot of movies! :p

As for mainstream movies, "Something's Gotta Give" was pretty good, and Cold Mountain was ok/good, but not worth the hype, although Renee Zellweger steals every scene she's in. House of Sand and Fog was good but depressing.

Also, I just rented (not watched yet) "Amorres Perros" which is the director (of 21 grams) previous film. I assume it is in the same style of past/present/future intertwined.

I saw Big Fish, too, and loved it, but I liked 21 Grams even more, though they aren't similar at all. I definitely suggest seeing it.

I´ve read that this one is not as good as "Amores Perros" , which I like a lot, but I am looking forward to seeing it very soon
