Who is watching Steve's keynote? Steve Jobs is giving his 2004 Macworld San Francisco 2004 Keynote. Anybody else watching? Anybody else eager to try out GarageBand?

There aren't many apple users I suppose...hell, I'm not one, I just root for them from the side-lines, hoping that someday all the software I use works on a Mac someday. It's getting close...Dreamweaver works on Mac...browser, mp3 player, word processor...another 5 years maybe... Fear is the mind-killer.

plus for music creation, macs are the way forward. I'm getting very tempted now. Macs are now Unix-based. But I have a friend with one and it falls apart periodically, so I'm not fully convinced. But I do believe in the basic philosophy...Apple blows doors on Microsoft when it comes to innovation. Fear is the mind-killer.

Thanks to Apple's innovation in software, I find the list growing in the other direction - programs I use that don't work on PCs. iPhoto, Final Cut Express, Safari, iChat AV, iDVD, etc. Nothing on windows does what these programs do or works as well as they do. iTunes used to be on the list until Apple did iTunes for Windows. And now add GarageBand to the list. What an amazing program.

One more thing - GarageBand is so cool that many people will buy macs just to be able to run it. I can't imagine any musician or aspiring musician who would want to be without it.
