I’M GETTING TIRED OF HANGING AROUND SMART/ INTELLIGENT PEOPLE …. I’m getting tired of hanging around smart people. Damn sometimes I just want 2 hang around ignorant people who don’t know any better. I mean we might not can talk about political stuff, but dammit at least we can have fun and laugh at stupid stuff. You can’t do that with smart people, they’re so worried about they’re image and looking unintelligent, meanwhile I’m like , come on give me a break, there’s not that much knowledge in the world !
As you can tell I’ve been a little frustrated lately.

I noticed this attitude among smrt people, even when I went 2 college and had all advance classes, it was the same arrogant attitude. Just cuz I act silly people thought I was less intelligent then I actually was. You know one of my teachers told me the best advice, “a wise man will admit when he doesn’t know something” makes you think doesn’t it ?

smrt edit [This message was edited Tue Jan 6 6:28:59 PST 2004 by DigitalLisa] there is a beautiful quote that goes something along the lines of: a wise man calls himself a fool, and a fool calls himself a wise man. Even if the Bible is not your book of choice, I would still like to share these.
This one shows how we can benefit by association. Proverbs 13:20 "He that is walking with wise persons will become wise, but he that is having dealings with the stupid ones will fare badly." This one addresses attitudes. Proverbs 3:7 "Do not become wise in your own eyes." And one of my favorites. Provers 4:7 "Wisdom is the prime thing. Acquire wisdom; and with all that you acquire, acquire understanding. Highly esteem it, and it will exalt you. It will glorify you because you embrace it. To your head it will give a wreath of charm; a crown of beauty it will bestow upon you." This one leaves no room for arrogance. Proverbs 1:5 " A wise person will listen and take in more instruction, and a man of understanding is the one who acquires skillful direction.." Melody So...how's everybody doing?

smrt edit [This message was edited Tue Jan 6 6:28:59 PST 2004 by DigitalLisa] Sounds like you've been around dumb people who think that they're smart. There are plenty of smart people with a sense of humor.

Hey! Smart/Inteligent people can be cool and silly with the best of 'em. Don't start hatin' and profilin' and overgeneralizin'. There's plenty of proof here.
People whose entire identities are tied up with the fact that they might know a little something can be tiresome, though. But they're no worse than our musically talented friends who steer the conversation to music on a level beyond our comprehension all the time or the computer geeks who blather on and on (and on) about computer-related minutiae. Most folks driven by the pursuit of specialized knowledge eventually mature and they're less dependent on the need to impress to establish themselves socially. That development is usualy a sign of wisdom, which is often more valuable than knowledge. But don't knock smart people and their focus on the heavier topics of the day. Just think how much better off we'd all be if there were someone smart in charge of things at the White House.
