this version will pretty much have nothing to do with the comics and I am very opposed to it I don't understand why DC Comics is so deadset on fucking with their own characters... ...but...anyway... Warner recently demanded some re-rights...now Halle will be playing Michelle Pfieffers (sic?) daughter...and i think they got rid of that horrid outfit too... Space for sale...

this version will pretty much have nothing to do with the comics and I am very opposed to it I don't understand why DC Comics is so deadset on fucking with their own characters... ...but...anyway... if Ra's Al Ghul is indeed the main villain, what about having Sir Ian McKellan (Magneto in X-Men, Gandalf in LOTR) play him? personally, I think that's a match made in heaven right there... ...and so help me...if Brendan Fraser ends up being the new Superman, I will never buy another comic book again!!! Actually, it isn't DC that is so dead set on fucking up their characters, but rather Warner Bros, who have no fucking concept whatsoever what goes into a good comic book movie. HOWEVER, they do seem to be starting to pay attention to what the geeks on the net say. When the pics of Halle in the awful Catwoman costume hit, the negative reaction really gave the suits some pause. Then, when they started to hear all the backlash, they started to really question the production's direction (they added in some dumb subplot that this Catwoman is Selina Kyle's daughter, but even that didn't placate the pissed off fans. After the WB execs saw an early cut of the film, they are now debating a delay in its release, because they are so worried that the film might further injur the Bat franchise. The Catwoman flick may now not see the light of day until after the new Batman flick has already hit. As for your suggestion that Ian Mckellan play Ra's Al Ghul, well, I personally would have no problem whatsoever with that, since he's a fantastic actor (although I still prefer the idea that they cast someone a little younger, to reflect his use of the Lazarus pit). One rumour I've heard quite a bit is John Malcovich is being considered, but I doubt he would take it (he passed on being the Green Goblin in Spider-Man). As for the whole Brendan thing: A) I doubt he'll get the part. It won't matter anyway, as the script sucks the sweaty mucus off a dog's balls. Trust me, if they go with the most recent script I read, its going to make Batman & Robin look like fucking Shakespeare. B) Don't take it out on the comics. The folks at DC have to put up with bad adaptations of their characters just like we do. WB owns DC, and they can take any one of their characters and do whatever they want with them, and there is nothing the DC folks can do about it. Its sad, but true. If you don't buy the comics, then all you're doing is hurting the folks who actually do care about these characters, and who write them the way they should be done. (Believe it or not, none of the comic people at DC have been asked to write ANY of the scripts for these movies. This is in spite of the fact that WB has a hit TV series with Smallville that utilizes DC scribe Jeff Loeb as its creative consultant). Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. (Ecclesiastes 7:9)

David Boreanaz (Angel) would make a good Supes IMO. Interesting side note: Boreanaz was offered the part of Batman before Bale was! He had to pass, because the filming would having conflicted with his Angel schedule. He definitely has the look to play either (although he has more of that Batman brooding quality to him, he still could pull off Supes). I heard he and Robert DeNiro were both spotted at a couple of readings for roles in the new Bat flick, but I have no idea who they were reading for. Sorry you dislike her so! I really like her, but as you said, to each his own! She has actually signed, in fact she's one of four actors on this list that have been confirmed (Bale, Murphy and Caine being the other three confirmed actors). Michael Keaton was a good, but I think Christian Bale will be better. Bale will be able to go between Bruce Wayne's Billionaire playboy facade and Batman's pathos quite nicely. The Tim Burton Batman films are decent, but they have major flaws in them. They aren't the perfect comic movies that many think they are. 4 me thers only 1 BATMAN "michael keaton". i remember wen it was leaked he'd landed the part ! the yank's went mental... he's 2 short ! he's losing his hair ! he's not handsome enuf ! but...he was f**kin brilliant !!! Don't get me wrong, I think he's great in that movie, but he just didn't get all the nuances right. "i got 2 go 2 work !" Again, I disagree. Keaton was good, but he just didn't get everything about the character. There just wasn't enough of a distinction between Bruce Wayne and Batman, other than him disguising his voice. Bruce Wayne is Batman's facade. Batman is who he really is. When he appears as Bruce, he should be acting as a vacuous playboy. I just didn't see that in the film. He always had this pathos about him that he couldn't hide, and that shows to me that he really didn't completely get the character. Batman is obsessed with his "crusade against crime", and would do whatever it took to make sure that he didn't fail (he certainly wouldn't bring Vicki Vale to the Batcave, nor would Alfred ever dream of letting her down there. Likewise, Batman would never throw villians down shafts, or fire machine guns out of the Batmobile). Too many inconsitincies with the character, although much of that is Tim Burton's fault.
