What exactly is a Bank Holiday? Is it different than a regular holiday?

We have Bank holidays here in Australia too. The bank just has a holiday...doesn't mean we do.

I love uk slang in the hands of Americans. I love Americans' misunderstanding of uk slang.

I've no idea what bank holiday means.

Australia, the theme park of the world, is a part of everywhere. Or rather, everywhere owns a part of Australia.

Brilliant! A country sold off piece by piece to the highest bidder, be they Chinese, Japanese or whatever.

I might buy a state there myself.

Bank Holiday-Any of several public holidays, originally when the banks were closed by law.

Bullocks-The plural of 'bullock'. A castrated bull reared for beef. Otherwise it could be Sandra and her family I guess. The term 'bollocks' however is a slang word for 'testicles'.

Chip Butty-A bread cake filled with potato chips (english fries).

Next thing you know, people will be saying they don't understand this song:-

ON ILKLA MOOR BAHT HAT

Where hast thou been since I saw thee?
On Ilkla Moor baht hat
Where hast thou been since I saw thee?
Where hast thou been since I saw thee?
On Ilkla Moor baht hat
On Ilkla Moor baht hat
On Ilkla Moor baht hat

Thou's been a courtin' Mary Jane
On Ilkla Moor baht hat
Thou's been a courtin' Mary Jane (2x)
On Ilkla Moor baht hat (3x)

Thou'll go and get thy death of cold
Then we shall have to bury thee

Then the worms will come and eat thee oop

Then ducks will come and eat up the worms

Then us will come and eat up ducks

Then us will all have eaten thee

That's how we get out loved ones back

A Bank Holiday is a day where companys close and we all get a holiday, apart from some people who work in a shop when the shops decide 2 have Bank Holiday Sales.
