LORD OF THE RINGS: THE RETURN OF THE KING!!!(Spoiler Free) Saw the final installment of the Lord Of The Rings trilogy last night, and I have to say: it was one of the best films I've ever seen!!! Beautiful, stunning, magnificent!!! This gets my highest possible rating! A+++
I want to rave on about this film, but I don't want to give anything away to those who haven't seen the films or read the books. I will just say that the film looks beautiful, has an incredible screenplay (that is very faithfull to the book), has some of the best acting I've ever seen in a film, has incredible effects, cinematography etc, and is beutifully directed by Peter Jackson. A near-flawless film! Tell them about the movie, precious NO!! They haven't seen it! It would spoil if we tell they want to know, Smeagol! No! You can'ts makes us tell!!! We won't!!! Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. (Ecclesiastes 7:9)

I'm seeing it on Sunday and can't wait!
One question... did Christopher Lee's scenes being ommited make a difference? Was it essential within the story? Is it a cunning ploy to sell the special editon DVD's with the scenes reintroduced? Put yourself on the worldwide org map! www.frappr.com/princeorg

No, It didn't hurt the film at all, nor did I think it was just a ploy. The film is 3 hours, 20 minutes as it is, and everything in it was essential. The great thing to me, is that the theatrical cuts are fantastic, but then the special editions wind up being even better when they include these really nice moments. I would have loved to have seen those scenes, but the film explains everything quite nicely. Nice Danger Mouse avatar, by the way! . I think the movie is amazing, but I dont really agree with it being better than the first two, I think its just as good as them.
The battle scene (I say that because there is really only one, and U cant miss it) is IMMENSE and is (as U would expect) the highlight of the movie. It also includes my favourite 10 seconds of the entire trilogy...the part where the humans are launching gigantic boulders from catapults off Minas Tirith. After one particular boulder is fired the camera switches 2 the "boulder cam" and yr right behind this huge peice of rock flying towards the 200'000 strong Urukai army, which fills the landscape and then it lands, squashing about 30 of em in 1 go...its brill!! My only 2 problems with the movie are the fact theres only 1 major battle scene (ignoring the quick battles at the port town near Minas Tirith and the "diversion battle" at the gates of Morder) and the fact the ending is very vague. I wont go in2 that more 4 obvious reasons. But I cant wait 2 go back 2 the cinema and watch it again. "...because no-one gets there alone." - "...I like the floor. ... No, I'm sure there are other people who don't enjoy great acting, marvelous stories, amazing sets/costumes/cinematography/effects, wonderful music, inspiring messages, etc. "Drop that stereo before I blow your Goddamn nuts off, asshole!"

... Thas fair enough. But if U find violent action entertaining in anyway then U really should watch the movie. The characters and acting are superb enough so any1 can appreciate the films, but the CGI and action sequences are what sets it apart from every other movie with action in thats been made previous. No, he's talking about Orlando Bloom, who plays Legolas (long, blonde haired guy). I have heard he's suppossed to be pretty popular with gay men, but I don't know. I'm with Gilly, I love me some Liv!
