Merry Christmas to all the Blue People Christmas is marketed as being a holiday about presents, warm cocoa and being surrounded by all those warm relatives.
Reality: Christmas can be a pretty miserable time of the year. We have to endure the presence of family members who WE CAN'T STAND, you run around on Christmas Eve for that last-minute-gift that you couldn't buy earlier because you had to tie up OTHER loose ends. I work in retail and have been up to my elbows in ornaments and rude old people since the weekend after Labor Day, so I've had a hard time getting into the "holiday spirit." And I know I'm not alone. For many people, Christmas conjures up bad memories and often puts you into awkward family situations. This thread is dedicated to all those people who are feeling the holiday blues. I'm sending you a warm DudeDrops hug and love in your direction... Just a few more days of this malarky and we'll be done--hang in there! | |

what about those of us, like myself, who won't even be able to see their family for the holiday? it's a bit of a mixed bag for me, cuz tho' i won't have to deal with my mom's side of the family (who i cannot stand most of the time) i won't be able to see/hang out with my dad.
