stop using heroin, now that you are not working, this is the perfect time to detox. opiate detox is not life threatening, but is obvious very uncomfortable. stay inside and drink plenty of fluids (non-alcoholic), then, as tolerated, locate and attend narcotics anonymous meetings on a daily basis. when you go to your first meeting, identify yourself as a newcomer, and get some phone numbers of recovering addicts with considerable time clean (clean means no alcohol or drugs of any kind, yes that includes pot). call those people daily and attend meetings daily, don't use no matter what. people get clean all the time. recovery is open to anyone mo matter what your circumstances.
