i had almost read it a few times before but always kinda thought it seemed like fluff. and so far it is, but extremely enjoyable fluff that is suprisingly well written. I enjoyed the movie Chris, I have several books on my shelf I want to attempt to read. One, a close friend has been wanting me to read for over a year or two now, but I just have not had the time to read anything other than school text books. -Rain of Gold ~Victor Villasenor ...and one that I have been wanting to read and I think I will over Christmas break... -The End of Racism ~Dinesh D'Souza

Do Dr Seuss books count? When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.

In the middle of three music (educational) books but just read "Where the Wild things are" to a Second Grade class.
The only one I've finished

Did you do the wild faces as you read the book, well I sure hope so. And did you say... "I will eat you up!" with conviction!? We I sure hope so.

~Isn't it great! forgot to reply again Slave2daGroove. Yeah, I read to kids in the city once a month with some people from work for the school year. Kids always love me but these kids just can't get close enough to me. On my lap, at my feet, asking me to read certain parts again, it's just awesome. The people who set it up gave me some books but they sucked so I've been buying the coolest and giving it to the class when I'm through. I'm stuck for January's book, though, maybe some Dr. Suess.

Ive read Troublemakers - the struggle for environmental justice in Scotland by Kevin Dunion 3 times this yr, and am now reading Bioethics by Stephen Holland which debates about the likes of euthanasia, IVF, genetic enhancement and human cloning. Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead, where there is no path and leave a trail

Just finnished "My time with Prince" by Dez Dickerson. I am now reading "Trawler" by Redmond o'Hanlon, Potter 5 for the 2nd time and "Uncle Tungsten" by Oliver Sacks (I usually read up to five books at the same time). I raced through Potter 5 the first time, so I'm taking it slow now.
Dez Dickerson's book is (in my opinion) a quite respectfull account of the things that according to Dickerson happened from just before the "Prince" album until "Purple Rain" (he left just before that). No sleaze or dirt. Interesting things he mentions: Prince does not drink, because he gets violently ill after just one drink. The whole charade at American Band Stand (not answering any questions by Dick Clark) was planned. Terry Lewis got in the Time through Dez. Redmond o'Hanlon is a British scholar, who every now and then takes on an adventure. He's been to Borneo, the Amazon and Congo and has written very good and funny books about it. This time he went on a fishing trawler for a few weeks, because it seems to be the most dangerous job you can do in Britain. I'm only on page 48, but I already like it. Uncle Tungsten is autobiographic and very well written. Oliver Sacks does a great job describing his childhood and how he got interested in science. People should read more, especially children!!!

Wittgenstein's Poker by David Edmonds and John Eidinow.
An interesting read. It examines the meeting of two great philosophers, Ludwig Wittgenstein and Karl Popper, in 1946 and what effect this meeting had on Western philosophy.

I just finished Lies, And The Lying Liars Who Tell Them by Al Franken (damned funny!) and I've just begun Dragon Tears by Dean Koontz. Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. (Ecclesiastes 7:9)

I loved it because I related to it completely.

You'd be the only person on the planet with a known copy or the balls to actually read it. A lot of people have copies of it. The original is fobidden to read. I'll keep everyone posted. "You need people like me so you can point your fuckin' fingers and say, "That's the bad guy." "
