I have pics, but I don't know if I'll ever post them. I remember a couple of years ago a guy posted some pics of himself in Prince gear, and everyone was merciless to him. While he didn't look great, he wasn't as bad as everyone acted. I don't know if I really want that kind of scrutiny.

not AS him as such, but have on a few occasion copped clothing ideas. when i was in junior high i went to a dance sporting the gett off video look, head rag and all.

Wow! What was the response?

people loved it... or at least seemed to. at that point in my life i was all about standing out and being different, so i am sure they were prepared for such a thing

Hmmm. Points of life.

Why does a 28-year old want to get dressed up as Prince circa 'Dirty Mind'? I think maturity got lost on it's way to me!

Still, one of my friends is on about going as Abraham Lincoln in the Electric Six video, so I'm sure I won't be the only one looking insane. Also, if I get self-concious, I can just close my raincoat.

hee hee... you do know we expect pics, right?

and i think it is damn clever. i hate when people show up with boring off the rack bland costumes. this last year i went as a str8 man, had a mullet wig, camoflage pants, an old t-shirt with a bullldog on it and the sleeves torn off, and a pained expression on my face. other favorites were the year i went as tonya harding and a friend went as nancy kerrigan, the year i went as both hall and oats (via a fake head on my shoulder), and the year i went as nicole brown simpson post stabbing, and a friend went as OJ... although the last one kinda bothered some people.

Pics? Hell, yeah! If I can find a site to host them. I think even the internet might not be depraved enough to contain pictures of me with my little, hairy tummy hanging over a pair of Marks & Spencer white fronts, wearing a charity shop Macintosh!

I'm normaly crap at fancy dress until this August I went to a musicals fancy dress party. I think the orgnaiser had very low hopes of me, going by previous crap turnouts. I think everyone was a little surprised when I turned up as Adolf Hitler. Failed to pull, though and these particular parties are meant to be the best place 4 a guy 2 pull!

BWAHAHAHAHAHA! hitler as a costume... i love it. i think i have found an idea for next halloween.

what does "pull" mean in that sense?

I saw a black guy this past Halloween dressed as a Klansmen! It was hystrical!

Anyone know where I could find this thread? Would it be in the vaults of the org or do old threads die?

I have! well kinda. giggle when I was about 11 I entered a prince look alike contest, this was around the release of `1999. I had the hairstlye down, the fake mole, I'm sure I was about the same height also. The only thing was is that I was wearing corduroys, tennis shoes (pony's) and a pleather members only. lol

I actually had a good reponse. giggle When i had to go out (on the roller skate rink disbelief) I did that little dance he does in the little red corvette video. falloff

Well I ended up losing, to some dude who had the trench & the rest of the outfit (even though he had a jheri curl) and was way to tall to be Prince.
Good thing I lost cuz he got his ass whupped by one of the local gangs for the prize money. hah!

The contest took place at a rollerskating rink named The Palace" how fitting. It was an all nighter, you know the ones where they would lock the doors at 11:00pm and you couldn't leave until 7:00am.
I woke up to two girls with their hands down my pants, giggle...Yeah I know I was young but...cool

MAN them were the days!

MrLovesexy

Well back in the 80's he did spark some hair style ideas with me...Let's face it, 99.9% of brotha's with any type of curl, had greased filled ones that were messy dripped and the girls never wanted 2 touch...unless they had one 2..lol

Prince was that other way...yeah it cost me some cash but 2 have dry big cool locks...well I'll just say I seemed 2 get noticed from "84" on...what a experience. Nothing like going 2 school 2 have people see U & tease U in the halls, 2 start singing Purple Rain...

Oh well with the love came the hate...but my hair did always look tight. all N all, a great fun ride~

PS. I remember in 86 getting a call from this gurl I knew...she was diggin on him 2 and called me 2 say: Prince got your hair style? Ala from the first hot single & video "Kiss" 2 drop from his fourth coming album Parade...I laughed 2 myself and played along with it knowing I had seen earlier pix of him with his hair like that...haha thats youth 4 ya~

I went to a dress-up disco and Prince when I was 13, and all these girls knew who he was and were like:

"Wow, you know who Prince is - I love "The One""

that was a fun night biggrin
