Does Anybody Know How to Get Candlewax Out of the Carpet?

I have candles burning on top of my big screen TV for Christmas, and for some dumb reason, the candle on the end fell off my TV, spilling candlewax onto my rug. Any helpful "Martha Stewart" hints as to how to remove it?

damn candles edit

Thanks, guys, I will try both of them (I'm desperate). lol I think I read that in order to get wax out of fabric, to put a cloth over the wax spot and use an iron. I may try that too. biggrin

Yes! Yes! Yes!

What you need is a warm iron, depending on the carpet, you dont want ti to burn, place some brown paper, or some thick absorbent paper, over the wax and iron on top, the wax will melt into the paper and hey presto! it has gone! yay!

worship Thank you for that great advice RedFeathers, my carpet is now as good as new hug

Ardeo is right. Put some baking paper over the stain, heat it up (with an iron or something) and take of the melted wax. Try not to burn urself or ur carpet in the process.

Edit: woopsie, i'm slow 2day. but i guess u know the solution by now :d

See...this is the Internet in action right here.

10 years ago, you'd dust off the Encyclopedia Brittanica, look up "wax stains" and be disappointed. Then you'd turn to the newspaper for a Hint From Heloise, only to be disappointed again...

Ok, but I would do it first! The heat will force what doesnt come up further in and flater ! The ice will freeze and then you can pull most out...
