since it's 2:10 A.M. over here and everyone's asleep, I'm
listening to nothing but the silent snoring of the fridge
and the somewhat louder snoring of my dog.

Beyond that, the ticking of the keyboard, my own breath,
a soft trickle of rain against the window and occasional
cars passing through the street.

It's an eerie calm. I'm starting to feel uncomfortable.

I think I'll go put on "others here with us" to make me
feel more cheerful
