We had to put my dog that was 12 years of age to sleep about a year ago. I miss him a lot so I can relate.. Sorry to hear about that.. Hope u heal soon.

I am sorry to hear this, but remember he lived to a good old age and I am sure his life with you and your family was the best he could ever have had.
Remember the happy memories, and Kilo is in Doggie Heaven now.

I lost my golden labrador when she was 13 too. She was like a sister to me as she grew up with me through my childhood through to my teens.

I still miss Fudge, oh she was wonderful, so I feel you on this, totally.

Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together...

Thanks for your thoughts guys. It's so hard when you have pets, they become a part of your family and it hurts so much when you have to put them down. Kilo still looked young so we really didn't expect him to go this soon...but he was suffering. We named him Kilo because he was gonna be a drug sniffing dog but he was too hyper. Then he became the ladies man...

Now I'm waiting for my cat to kick the bucket. She's 18 and I've had her since I was 9. I'll be in mourning for a long time when she goes...I can't even think about it.

No more pets for me...too painful.
