Hey!! can any UK fans please help me with this??

I am getting bored with my Cable TV service!! Right now I have NTL Cable and its getting so boring and theres not much choice I find!! I am thinking of switching 2 Sky Digital or Sattelite!! What are the main differences between NTL Cable and Sky Digital or Sattelite?? Do u get a better choice with Sky?? And also can u get more US channels and programmes than u can with NTL Cable,as I used 2 live in the US and I really miss some programmes that I used 2 watch over there??? I really miss NBC Today, Good Morning America and The Early Show!! The breakfast shows over here are total shit compared 2 those ones!! Also I really miss certain daytime talk shows!! I watch CNBC Europe, but all its money and finance all day!!

PLEAASE help me!!! I am so desperate!!!

P.S. The only problem is I have NTL Broadband which I am very happy with!! So I dont want 2 change that!!

Honestly, I'd prefer to get out of the house and go and watch the sea if I lived on the south coast.

i have Sky digital, I really like it, theres a vast array of programmes to watch on any topic, can't remember the figure but there are 100's.
Not too sure if the ones you mentioned r on though.
i'd definetely recommend it,but hten i',ve never seen ntl so i have no idea which is better!

I was in the same boat as you when i moved house, i had NThelL broadband/cable in the new house but had Sky Digital in the old one.

within a week i was cancelling NThellL tv (keeping broadband though) cos it was shite. $ky is far better than any offering NThelL will ever have.

go to the end of the list 'Sky Entertainment Packages' for the cheap ones. The one on the left (Family Pack) is similar to what I've got (slightly different cos I'm in Ireland). I've had Sky for 2 years, and am quite happy with the package. That's a whole lot of channels for your money, although to be honest, many of them are crap that I never look at. Some of the others (Paramount Comedy springs to mind) are becoming quite tedious as they just repeat all the series over and over again. There's still enough to keep a person entertained though. Even when you've flicked through all 100+ channels and found absolutely nothing to watch (at 7:30 on a Wednesday evening) there's always VH1 Classic Rock to fall back on.

I'm not sure you'll get all your American morning shows, although I think you'll get some of them anyway on FTN.

Definitely better than NTL though. If NTL UK is anything like NTL Ireland (and I suspect that they are) then you will definitely be better off with Sky. Apart from the initial installation cost you get much better value for money, and Sky actually provide polite and helpful customer service (even if you have to pay premium call rate for it), unlike NTL who are famous (in Ireland anyway) for their customer disservice.

There isn't much on NTL @ all. The Sky Movies channels r cool, have u got these?, there r some cool movies on them & Purple Rain is on sometimes 2!

The other channels r not so good, only UK Gold, UK Gold2 have some good shows on them but this is only cuz they show old UK comedy shows!

I'd just keep with the cable...
