So, I was playing music last night (one of supa's dance mixes ) in my aprtment and it's 8:45pm and all of a sudden there's this pounding coming from the neighbors above me. So, I stop the music and then wait a few seconds and then play it again. They decide to pound more, so I turn it down a little, but I'm pissed. No these muthaf kas didn't call themselves telling me to be quiet! The house rules say to be careful of noise before 9:00am and after 10:00pm. these are the same assholes I complained about earlier this year for playing music and walking like they have bricks cemented to the bottom of their shoes at 1 and 3 o'clock in the damn morning! I decided to go to the manager's office today and tell her what happened. She told me that I most certainly can play my music and that she could talk to them, or I could talk to them, or wait until they complain about me. I decided to wait until they complain about me. In the meantime, I will be documented every time they pound down on me when I'm playing my music between 9:00am and 10:00pm!

I used to go thru shit like that with my neighbors when I lived in an apartment. I'm so glad that I don't deal with that bullshit anymore. But I can say that when I used to do mean shit to them, they'd just reciprocate and nobody got anywhere like that.

Consideration is good. I remember the good o'l apartment days. I use to get acquainted with my neighbors, not best buds or anything, well not all the time.

Anyways, by starting off on a good note and letting them know how much I love listening to music, and if ever it was too loud to let me know. This always worked for me and music issues were not ever the case.

Neighbor Shoots Man For Loud Music Top Stories

(Phoenix, AZ) -- Phoenix police are investigating the shooting of a man, early Friday morning, reportedly because he was playing the stereo too loud. The unidentified victim was shot in the stomach allegedly by his neighbor at an apartment complex near 27th Avenue and Glendale. The shooting victim is listed in serious condition, but is expected to recover. The neighbor has been taken into custody.

They shouldn't be forced to listen to your music just because it's before 10:00. What if they are trying to take a nap? It's pretty rude to be playing loud music AT ALL in an apartment as you have no idea of your neighbors situation. What if they work nights or have to wake up real early in the morning for some special reason? Part of the deal with an apartment is NO LOUD music.

As far as them making noise...it's a totally different subject and you need to complain when they do make noise. You can't have it both ways.

In essence you've already said your apartment manager knows what's going on and doesn't have a problem with it, and of course he/she knows more about the situation than any of us here do. That being the case, seems to me that at this point at least, unless you change your methods for the worse, so far you're in the clear.
