Do you feed your pets veggie food Touchy? oops, i didn't mean that to refer to blues giving hamburger to her dog - i've heard my vet recommend that before, too. hope it helps. yes, both of my dogs are veggies. they've come a long way now in understanding how dogs can be fed a nutritionally complete diet without meat. and once you know what goes into commercial pet food, you'll be looking for alternatives, too.  | |

conch5184 said: i want my doggie to be veg but it's too expensivei buy Natural Life dog food, both dry and canned, at the health food store. the 20lb bag of dry food is just under $20, comparable to other higher-end brands. the dogs love it, especially the canned food. you can order it from them online, and get a discount for regular shipments, i believe (i'll look into that myself). the reason i switched to veggie dog food was that i was just concerned with what goes into commercial pet food, and the thought of hundreds of animals having to die because of my animals just seemed wrong. i also feed my cat their lamb-based diet, and it's done wonders for his coat. (cats are natural carnivores, while dogs are considered omnivores) | |
