So I watched the first episdoe last night. I was pleasantly surprised!

I have to admit, I was prepared to be brutally disappointed--I suppose I was most upset by the whole idea of getting rid of the classic Cylons. I just enjoyed those annoying silver robots from the original series--they were creepy and cool at the same time. Today, I suppose they seem a little cheesy, but still...I didn't want them spoiled by some newcomers.

However, they've managed to create some fresh plot-devices...low-tech as a tactical advantage, for example...and the new Starbuck chick is actually pretty cool, cigar and all. They've really succeeded in freshening up the franchise without violating it's original spirit, IMO.


Two thumbs up so far!
