Chemmie is not dumb, but he's not that smart, either. I think he's a good mimic of others whom he respects and who sound like they know what they're talking about. As much as he complains about the school system and how people who can't read and write are being passed into the next grade, his debating skills, grammar and spelling are for shit. 
Since we're being honest here... thank you so much. spelling and grammar are meaningless in my world. now physics, calculus and computer languages do have meaning in my world. there is a whole right brain, left brain thing going on up there and i just dont have the attention span or patience to worry about my spelling and/or grammar on an internet message board. besides, that's the oldest argument in the internet community handbook. go to chapter 12 where they teach you insulting somebody's spelling and grammar is infantile and pointless. hmmm...chemmie, this is a funny thread because I don't see much appreciation of you here but I will say this. It is a rare thing that threads regarding race are started by black folks on here. Most ofthe time we are responding to something ignorant or misguided that has been said.
Chemmie, you exposing the children to Olive Garden is ok along as you are making sure that the FAMILY has food when they go home. Also, unprivileged children are not just "po black kids". There are poor white children that would love some bread sticks and salad too. My point is that you don't get brownie points for working with inner city children. Some of us do it daily but don't find the need to tell the world. Just do the work. Lastly, I think its funny that you find it necessary to get grants to work with these children and yet if someone said something about a misguided 18 year old who because of poveryy, racism, etc. you'd be the first to say that he should have been able to make it because we's all equal now..we's free, we's free. | |

What can I tell ya...I appreciated chemmie for hanging in there as long as he did, unwanted, unloved, unwelcome. Amazing. I wonder if he's a masochist sometimes. It was nice to have some Libertarian backup on the political scene, back when I posted a lot. Not surprisingly, I caught a lot of crap just for associating with him, but that's how it goes sometimes. Chemmie's no saint, that's true...but then neither are any of you. Not even close. Rest in peace, chem.  Fear is the mind-killer. | |
