Please help me with my Christmas shopping It´s always hard to come up with good, fresh ideas for what to give to family members. (friends are usually more on the same wavelength as yourself, which makes it a lot easier).
I´ll be celebrating Christmas with my dad, mum, sister, grandma and aunt. Here´s a little bit of information about them: Mum: 55 years old. Interested in arts, culture, outdoor activities, reading, writing and social events of different kinds. Dad: 54 years old. Interested in strange technical gadgets, golf, music, movies, theater and travelling. Sister: 25 years old. Interested in design, visual arts, events out of the ordinary (such as art performances etc), philosophy, history and interior decoration. Grandma: 83 years old. Interested in listening to the radio, reading, gardening, tv, outdoor activities and nature in general. Aunt: 37 years old. Interested in music, movies, computers and other technical gadgets, clubbing, partying, meeting people, but also staying at home relaxing. I guess you think all this info would make it easy for me to find presents for them, but it´s not. I´ve already tried (and succeeded) to match their hobbies on numerous occasions. So now I would need to come up with something new for them, but that goes along the lines of what they already like. Any ideas? Money usually spent on each person: around $40 US (can vary greatly though, depending on what the present is).

Get one of those "tasteful" nude shots taken of yourself and provide them with a framed copy.
They will never want another present from you again. When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.

I dont know how much it is, but you can name a star after someone, that would be a cool thing to do for grandma. After 83 years here on this earth maybe she would like to be honored that way
Good luck One of the best days of my life... http://prince.org/msg/100/291111

They will never want another present from you again. ...and I would be to embarrassed to show up again for any family event ever. It would save me a lot of money and also I wouldn´t have to put up with the "aren´t you going to find a job?" comments... They´d think they have a pretty good idea where my career is heading.

Good luck Are you serious? Can you actually do that? Get the name officially registered and the star specified and all I mean? In that case, wow!, it´s a great idea!

Settled then? You going to do it? One condition is that because you got given the idea here on the org you must post the photo here. When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.

Thanks. It´s what I thought it would be, i.e. not an actual international, scientific register but rather a company having a list of their own and selling products with sentimental value. They´re very straight-forward about it though, and don´t pretend to be anything else. I don´t know...maybe I´ll go for it. It´s still a nice thought. And thank you for showing it to me!

I´ve actually been thinking about posting my pic here sometimes (and a tasteful nude one, hmmm why not?). But most of the time I think it´s more interesting to stay anonymous and let people keep assuming things about me. It´s weird, because before I started using Sigourney weaver as my avatar most people assumed that I´m a woman. Now most people assume that I´m a man (not including you though, I guess). Why Sigourney Weaver would make them think that beats me. [This message was edited Wed Dec 3 2:10:16 PST 2003 by Vibrator]
