Do you know where your country is?

I find it disturbing that 11% of Americans couldn’t find the United States on a map of the world. (Only 3% of Mexicans couldn’t find Mexico.) I got 18 of 20. How did you do?

I missed the religion question only because I really don't give a damn.

Other than that, PERFECT.

I got 18/20 correct. I am not surprised that many people in the U.S. don't know much about other countries. I was educated in Canada and we are taught quite a lot about history and geography in other countries. I have heard that the U.S public school system bascially teaches their own and not much about any other country.

lol

I´m from Sweden and I got 20/20. I think it´s because it´s such a small country and we´re bound to look beyond our borders sooner rather than later.

I don´t want to pick on the Americans, but I must admit that it got me a little worried that 40% of them don´t know where Russia is (it´s rather hard to miss!) and a whopping 60% don´t know where Japan is!

Swedes were bad at knowing where Argentina is though and that isn´t exactly the smallest country in the world. So maybe I should keep my mouth shut...

But that was not hard, Israel, Sweden, even Afghanistan could have been much harder if the alternative choices were at least in the same continent!!

19/20. I didn't know which two countries had a population over a billion. I said China and Russia, but turned out to be China and India. Didn't know they could squeeze that many people into India.

This is why statistics can be skewed to one viewpoint or another.

Is this ALL Americans, or just Americans over 18?

If you count children, the developmentally disabled, Alzheimer's patients, brain dead (hehe obviously), etc., then that 11% doesn't seem very outrageous.
