I received a very distressing email from 'nana last night. In it, he expressed sentiments that have been echoed by many others recently ~ I'll leave the personal contents for him to address publicly if he chooses ~ but the tone of the letter indicated that he is seriously considering leaving the org. I love this guy and think he has contributed some amazing threads and posts. He has that unique combination of intellect, humor, depth and sensitivity that makes hin universally loved. His kindness, respect and passion for others is his trademark. I don't want to see him go ~ we've lost far too many valuable and special people. If this is what he decides, of course I will respect his decision to take another path but I want him to know how much he will be missed.
Right now, he is quite ill and I'm sure would appreciate well wishes to help him get through the pain he is experiencing. Thanks everyone ~ we all hate these posts because it means our community is rearranging itself once again but I think the world of him and wanted fellow orgers to know his thinking right now. Love ya 'Nana

do you ever think that it might be in peoples best interest to leave? i know that when i deactived my account is was for the better..i was starting my own company and needed to spend most of my attention with that...maybe people are trying to deal with their net addictions...maybe people wanna spend more time with their loved ones...why's it always gotta be a do or die scenerio?...

and whats with this "we've lost to many valuable and special people" crap? so...does this mean those who continue to contribute to use this forum have lil releavence?

ive been surfing this site for over five years now...aint nothing changed about it...people come..people go (just as long as the waters cold..oopsies...sorry!!)...all this place is is a bunch of typed out opinions on a screen...sure, some opinions become more noticeable...usually cause those people spend the more time on it...but please try to keep things in perespective...its only a forum...and if you appreciate spending time with that person..isnt it healthier to do it for real?

Don't leave, 'nana!

I'm not really big on the entire concept of "leaving" a virtual community, because it's not like you're physically going anywhere that will necessitate you being far away from any given website. My attitude has always been that if you're tired of a web community, just back off for a while and eventually it'll serve a similar purpose to that which it did when you were enjoying it the most.

Of course, I don't always follow my own ideologies - I bid the boards over at NPGMC adieu recently, mainly because I felt like the mice had taken control of the castle and that there's some really icky vibes going on over there that I don't wanna be a part of...and believe it or not, I feel it has less to do with Prince's weirdness or the moderators' gestapo-ism than it has to do with certain users' creepy overzealous fanaticism.

Yet at the same time, there are folks at the NPGMC who I like, and who I see in "real time" every now and again - so for the sake of keeping those folks abreast of where I am and where I'm not for the sake of keeping in touch, I spose it was in my best interests to shoot off a "bye bye NPGMC" note.

I've always thought the Org is different, though...even if I go into lurker mode for a while, I don't ever see myself swearing off participation on this site. I hope Nana sticks around, even if he needs to take an Org vacation for a while...
