Computer help, please? I downloaded Kazaa on my computer a while back. Yeah, I know, bad Stymie. Anywho, obviously, I downloaded a bunch of spyware and viruses. Yeah, I know: I deserve it. My computer is super slow now and I notice when I visit some sites like this one, there appears to be a link behind some of the words that would take me to other sites if I click on them. I have Symantec Antivirus on my system and it catches the viruses and quarantines them but it can't repair them. Okay, so I fucked up. What do I do now?

Just installed Quicken (a financial tracking software) and paid $100 for it. Next thing you know, spyware, pop-ups and so much bullshit I can't surf the net.
I spent all day yesterday with Ad Aware, Firewalls and tons of other shit. Still nothing. Tonight I'm hooking0up behind my friends firewall and installing McAfee firewall and all of the Windows updates (there's like 5 I didin't know about). Then's there's this software you can download for free called "Spybot" I'll post here once I got it fixed with how I did it.

I've just installed Ad-aware. Pesky cookies - now all gone!
Can anyone recommend a decent, free, virus-scanner for Win 98 please?

It took care of them, no more pop ups Best of all... it's free! I run two pop-up blockers now. If the 1st doesn't stop the bastards, the second one gets it! But now there are all those even more annoying "pop-under" ads. Can anyone tell me how to stop those from appearing? (If anyone doesn't know what I mean, see http://www.computerandvid...index.php? and check out the annoying Futurama ad or whatever else they throw at you).

I tried that. They said I'd have to give them money - cheeky bastards. I told them I had internet access, so doesn't that mean everything is free. The buggers chucked me out the shop. Paying for software???!!! I've already got all the 0s and 1s - I just need a bit of help putting them in the right order.

I use two cleaners to rid my PC of undesirable elements.
The first is called PornAway and the second TheWifeWillNeverKnow. Both work a treat.
