I was watching Betsey Johnson's 2004 Spring collection on tv today. It reminded me of how much I really dug her stuff, back in the day. Even now, her fashions are still fun and sexy. Betsey, herself, is pretty funky and witty. She's like, close to 60 (if she's not already there) and she always ends her show with a cartwheel on the catwalk!

I actually met her years ago. In fact, it was late one afternoon while on my way to Times Sq. to see Purple Rain for the ___th(?) time. I had her autograph the PR advertisement in the movie section of my paper.

Do I have a favorite fashion designer? I live for fashion! In fact, I went to FIT in New York last year, majoring in fashion design, but now I go to Philadelphia University and am majoring in fashion marketing. I loved design, but thought I'd have more opportunies with a degree in the business-related end.

Well, of course you can wear haute couture, but it's main purpose is to be more like artwork. Some of best haute couture pieces, in my opinion, are by Yves Saint Laurent and Christian Dior.

In fact, I've seen an exhibit on different haute couture pieces at the Philadelphia Museum of Art a few years back, and it was absolutely amazing. Everything was so beautiful. Clothes really can be artwork.

I love the ocean so I think my ideal wedding would be on a beach, wearing a dress that's maybe a little shimmery that has the sweetheart neckline (ideal for my bust anyway but hard to wear in real life) and the mermaid sheath and then a subtle shell theme throughout all the decorations and maybe i would be barefoot and
oh maybe i shouldn't plan it all out without even having a boyfriend yet

I'll have to try to find a picture of my dream wedding dress and I'll post it. I've got some pictures saved on my home computer (I'm at work right now). Lol, I have everything all planned, except for one little thing... I don't have a boyfriend, either!

Betesy's great but Bob Mackie is the bomb! He designs Cher's clothes.

LaCoyta, I agree about Bob Mackie. At FIT a few years ago, they had a Bob Mackie exhibit featuring his most famous garments, including most of what Cher wore on her show, and you just had to see it! You wouldn't believe all of the intricate detailing; and Cher is sooo tiny. There was also many of the things he designed for Carol Burnett and the Queen Elizabeth gown that Whoopi Goldberg wore when she hosted the Academy Awards that one year. It was absolutely beautiful. Seeing his designs in pictures and on TV does not do his work any justice whatsoever.
