CHRiSTmas....why do we spend?

seriously, if most of us know that there is/should be more 2 this holiday than just shopping N spending, then why do we do it? why do we go out of our way 2 get in2 debt and feel that we have 2 buy gifts 2 show our love 2 our family and friends? will we ever just say "NO!" 2 this?

PEACE N B WiLD!!!

hmmm... good point. Maybe we should show our love in an additional way. Give them a gift that isn't necessarily a material thing. Maybe give them an opportunity or an experience. Something that still costs us in either time or money but isn't a Video game or a DVD.

I don't actually have children right now so I don't need to put that much thought into it right now.

seriously. i just got back from a family get 2gether. i called it "the 2nd thanksgiving". i asked them the same question. i really wanted 2 know why we feel justified 2 go out and spend soo much money on gifts 2 celebrate this holiday. they all said it was 2 feel good N 2 spread joy 2 the kids during this time...what the FUCK is wrong with us?!!!

Don't be so negative hug
It's the only time of the year, where you get to give and receive gifts at the same time. What's wrong with that? I stopped thinking about the purpose of x-mas. If you stop thinking about it, maybe you will get the excitement like you did when you were little, there is nothing wrong with that. It's the funnest time of the year. I just see it as a nice tradition with your family and something to look forward to in the winter.
