Fargo, the credits, dialects of nothern Maine and the cajuns

My wife rented Fargo the other night and I finally saw the joke of the symbol in the credits.

I had never heard those accents and speach patterns before, how exagerated is this?

It made me think of when we went camping in extreme northern Maine, people speak with free interchange of French and English which almost creates a new language.

Theese are the accaidians who were mostly kicked out of the region, to resurface as the Cajuns, with a very well known accent.

k

I am from Minnesota and it is hugely exaggerated and spoofed. Some of the locations are in Minneapolis and also Brainerd MN> The Blue Ox is a bar in Brainerd where those 2 girls were being interviewed etc...

I love watching "This Old House" or "COPS" when they're in Boston. Man those are some funny accents.
