I do hear it is much worse having all four out at once and you will be in a bit of pain and bother for a few days I'm afraid. When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.

I had an uncle who had his wisdom teeth removed. The operation went well with no after-effects. Or so we all thought...
A couple of weeks later he was electrocuted when he tried to use the hoover in the bath. Coincidence? I think not. Be warned!

I had mine removed by Oral Surgeon in 1990 or 1991. My only time under General Anesthesia. I went in, put on headphones, counted backwards from about 10... 9... 8... Then someone tapped on my leg, and it was ALL DONE. I did later have a vague recollection of hearing a Don Henley song on the Walkman while I was out. But it seemed like a 10 min procedure. No problems with dry socket or anything else. GOOD LUCK and ENJOY THE DRUGS!!! http://elmadartista.tumblr.com/ http://twitter.com/madartista

What a bunch of wimps! All I got was a local. I got to feel the pain, and taste the blood, and hear the crunch of the tooth as he gripped it firmly with the plyers. The I got to see my blood soaked teeth as he removed them and placed them in a stainless steel tray. It was cool!

I had 3 removed. I went out the same night. No problems at all.
My 4th one didnt come in till I was 22 years old. I still have it and they keep telling me it needs to come out. Im afraid this one will kill since the first time went so easilly. "I'm here to chew bubblegum and kick ass, and I'm all out of bubblegum"

Don't worry about going under General. You don't remember a thing...it's sort of like closing your eyes and then opening them again with no sence of time.

I had a cousin who had them put in!
She felt hers were too small and wanted bigger ones to give her confidence and to feel more womanly. Anyway, 6 months later, the teeth rejected her. The surgeons only just managed to keep the teeth alive. My poor cousin didn't make it. Still, the teeth are a welcome new addition to the family and we regularly see them at weddings and funerals.

I had 3 out at the same time, 2 were impacted and 1 cut through...I never got the 4th one Anyway, the surgery was not bad at all, I even ate as soon as I got home. BUT I decided to pop a few more percocets than perscribed, and drink some margaritas and smoke cigs like they were going out of style and I ended up with severe dry sockets. Something simple turned into the worst pain of my life within a day. Dry sockets are when the holes in your mouth do not clot and heal...they to take a metal hook and scrape the inside of my gums to get it to bleed and hopefully clot again and it was painful. But the most pain was the throbbing...it felt like someone was hitting me in the head with a hammer.
So just take care of them after the surgery. No matter how good you may feel just relax and try not to eat too much solid food. I was a dummy! DOH!

My dentist told me I didn't have any of my wisdom teeth yet, he also took an x-ray and didn't see any growing beneath my gums. I asked him if this was normal and he said only in highly evolved individuals.

Highly evolved Please define Obviously, if I need to explain you must be low on the evolutionary chart. [This message was edited Tue Nov 25 20:36:46 PST 2003 by sinisterpentatonic]
