thankful for the sock and the shoe
and right to walk around free

thankful for my family
ya know they do ground me

thankful for truth
and the eyes with witch to see

thankful for my human vehicle
as long as it holds out

thankful for that trip ta fan
and the turkey tan
and the cranberry jam
in my morning spam

now i am thankful
for yall my extended clan

i get a little shakey now n then
when i wipe my brow at the
thought of every grain of sand
