40th anniversary of JFK assassination today (11/22)

I'm surprised to not see anyone mention this here, but perhaps I shouldn't be confused

Anyway, I've been watching a lot of TV programs on History, PBS and A&E this week about it, and I can't imagine what it was like to have witnessed it or lived through that time. Well, maybe I can. I think for my generation, 9/11 is something along the same lines. One of those days burned into your memory for the rest of your life.

Anyway, is anyone here old enough to remember it?

What a critical moment in US history. To me, it's the greatest "what if...?" of 20th century America, and the loss of its/our innocence and a little bit of hope.

Maybe I'm one of the few people here who knows where she was on that sad day. (I said "knows", not that I remember.) My mom had taken me to get vaccinated. I discovered this by accident years ago when I went to get my MMR shot in order to register for college.

The guy at the clinic took one look at my old health card and flipped out because the date 11/22/63 was entered. He wanted to buy the card off me.

Anyway, President Kennedy would be 86 now. The only surviving member riding in the President's car has written a book. Much of the evidence, like Jackie's blood-stained suit and Lee Harvey Oswald's passport, are archived. I saw Oswald's brother on tv today. (It hadn't occured to me that his last name is one of those names that raises eyebrows to this day.) He he said that there was no conspiracy, that his brother acted alone, that he did it for the recognition. And had it not been Kennedy it would've been some other famous figure.

I saw Jesse Ventura's America (on msnbc or cnn, i think msnbc) and he had a bunch of guests on talking about conspiracy theories and it was a pretty compelling case for them. For example, the bullet wounds were small in front and large in back, implying that he was shot from in front, not behind. And 60 witnesses said that the motorcade stopped, but it never even slows down in the Zapruder (sp?) tape. It was heavily edited to disprove conspiracy theories. Crazy stuff. Maybe this should be in P&R but I just wanted to say that.
Anyway seeing all the biographies etc. of JFK and the family have been very inspring. He was so bold and self-assured; it makes me think perhaps that's the way to go to achieve civil rights for minorities. And to understand America, you might have to know about the Kennedy family. I'm going to find out more about them. Very inspiring.

His father also had mob ties and Marilyn Monroe always figures into the picture for some reason to me.

Kennedy was killed by extra-terestrials whose home planet orbits the Sirus B supernova.
They were hired by the Illuminati.

Supernova did that? Where has she been lately? Is there a reward for information leading to her capture?

as for the mob, i think it's more the conflict within the administration when it came to dealing with the mob. the mob was part of the Kennedy political machine, and the mob was working with the CIA to get rid of Castro. at the same time, JFK and RFK were cracking down on organized crime.

I'll buy that Illuminati part, but you're kinda stretching it with the alien conspiracy.
