I don't need a court decision to make up my mind.
It's sickening to see how much support this man has when countless children have been exposed to his sick acts of self-gratification. Don't believe for a second that just because he's found "innocent", which HE WILL BE, that that is indeed the case. To answer your question: Nope, this ex-fan is done supporting Mike's fancy... Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

Whether Michael Jackson is found guilty or not, I think it will reveal to some extent who Michael Jackson really is. There's been so many stories about how wacky he is the tabloid press-that he tests his excrement, he sleeps in an oxygen chamber, collected John Merick's bones or whatever. He himself seems happiest surrounded by children at his Never Land ranch riding fairground rides trying to recreate the childhood he never had.
Another side to him which is less sighted is his shrewed business sense which has created his wealth particularly from his involvemnet with Sony. The same record label that Jackson accused its head of being 'racist and evil' and who Jackson declared for his 'termination'. All these things lead me to not get a sense of who the 'real' Michael Jackson is. When I was really young I remembered him for being a magical entertainer, a stunning showman, an electrifying dancer. But gradually I became disinterested in the music he was making partly due to my growing fascination with Prince and other music. I think this may have also been due to his popularity waining with regards the record sales for HIStory and in particular Invincible. Invincible's failure, Jackson believed was down to Sony's manager who I forget his name, lack of promotion and racism. Yet few people came out in support of him. Unlike Prince for example, Michael Jackson has increasingly cast himself as the victim of a houndful media. This was clearly shown with the HIStory album. The 1st disc seemed to suggest, Jackson as saying 'look at how great I am', the 2nd disc in part seemed like an attempt to make himself seem like a victim. I cant say what Invincible was like as I havent heard it. Despite having to reach an out of court settlement in the past over child abuse allegations he continues to portray himself as naive and innocent. Continuing to believe that sharing with a bed with children is a 'beautiful' thing. He claims that he has a skin condition that has lightened his skin but it still doesnt explain why he's had operations on his nose and face. He looks more like a peculiar white women than the African-American man he really is. Because of the way he sees himself and his physical appearance it is almost impossible to imagine that he could ever be capable of the allegations he faces. If he looked any different would we think he was less or more guilty then? I still love Michael Jackson's music but as a man, if he is found guilty, I dont think I could ever hold him in the high regard or sympathy I once had for him.

Do you think he was innocent or guilty when he was taken to court in 1993? I mean, like, where is the sun?

I am dumbfounded by some of the rationalizations that some of you offer in defense of Wacko Jacko. The topic, as I understand it, was; "...will you still be down for Mike even if the court finds him guilty?" NOT, "was he an inspiration" or "did he change the history of modern music"...ARE you or AREN'T you a supporter and/or fan of this man if it's proven beyond a doubt that he's a child molestor??? Simple and plain. If you say YES, then you need to re-examine your personal values and beliefs. Put it this way; if you're black and all of a sudden you find out that Tom Clancy is a card-carrying member of the KKK...would you still buy his books? If you are gay and find out that Mel Gibson believes that AIDS is God's way of getting rid of homosexuals...would you still see his movies? Need I go on? MJ is a man. He is fallible. And just like any man, he must be held liable and responsible for his actions. So answer the question people...ARE you or AREN'T you willing to support a convicted pedophile? Stop with the sugar-coating please. BALLS Never judge the art by the arist. Ike Turner is a musical genius and Tina's best stuff was done with him. Nothing about their personal life can change that. Knut Hamsun's book "Hunger" is one of the greatest works of literature of the 20th Century. The fact that he supported the Nazi party and went to meet Hitler can't change that. William Burroughs was a genuine genius. He shot his wife in the head in front of their young son. Doesn't stop "Junky" being brilliant of "Naked Lunch" being visionary. I could go on forever. If Jacko is guilty then I hope he gets what he deserves but if you think I should stop enjoying "Billy Jean" then FUCK YOU "You know, you're the classic example of the inverse ratio between the size of the mouth and the size of the brain"

So you think pedophilia and christanity are equivalent? No, that the Jehova faith and pedophilia are equally anti my being. Also, Christianity and JW are two very different things to my mind. I am not a Christian, but I have a Christian way of thinking. [This message was edited Sun Nov 23 15:09:19 PST 2003 by scififilmnerd] FREE THE 29 MAY 1993 COME CONFIGURATION!

"...if the court finds him guilty..." I agree. I would still appreciate the music that I have and that I like, but I would refrain from bying new releases. I could not in good conscience support a pedophiliac. Just like I love Prince's pre-Jehova music but do not support the contemporary JW Prince by buying his releases or attending his shows. To answer the question:
unless the definition of lewd conduct is somehow extended to non-sexual things (which i don't think is even possible given the law): no, i will no longer b down for MJ if the courts find him guilty. However, it's kinda sad that even when the court says he is not guilty, some will still consider him a pedophile. "It's better 2 B hated 4 what U R than 2 B loved 4 what U R not."
