Geez. This is sad... Sad for the kids. Sad for an obviously very mentally ill man. Sad for an entire planet that's amused at seeing him go down in flames instead of getting the help he needed decades ago. disbelief

Wouldn't someone have to have him committed if he wasn't willing to get help on his own. This makes me so so sad. He used to be a vibrant entertainer with the world at his fingertips and now he's just a tortured man. It's really really sad.

Yeah, if he didn't go willingly, some family member would have to seek power of attorney or something, I'd imagine. But given his very visible problems, I can't imagine they'd have had much trouble doing it.

I think it's a mix of all this, plus a healthy dose of ego and failure to manage his own problems.

And know what's the biggest tragedy of all here? This episode isn't going to teach anyone crap. We'll go on with our own status quo handling of money, power, lack of mutual responsibility and breaking the cycle of abuse and mental disease. It's a shame.

I know someone who's feeling somewhat vindicated today: The kid (now an adult) who accused MJ 10 years ago. There were so many stories about this was an extortion plot by the kid's father and it was just about money.
I know MJ hasn't been convicted of anything, yet, but the original accuser is probably saying "I told you so".
An interesting legal note: Because the original victim couldn't be compelled to testify, California drafted new laws saying a victim can now be made to testify in court. The DA says this new victim is, so far, cooperating with authorities and does plan to testify in court.
"Your butt is mine"? I don't think so. Not this time Mikey.

How about the parents that would allow their children to be alone with Michael Jackson? They bear some responsibility for being starfuckers instead of parents and looking out for their childrens welfare.

I posed a hypothetical with Eminem. I just suggested that maybe he had changed. I dunno. Em is also responsible for his own actions and if his career suffers for what he did years ago, it's his own fault.

He didn't molest anyone. He made some racist comments years ago that just surfaced after ten years.

Probably a combination of all those things. And I once heard that MJ himself was sexually abused as a child, but I'm not sure if that's true.In any case,it's no excuse for his OWN behavior as an adult.

Exactly. If I were the judge in this case,I would come up with some jail time for the parents too! What kind of parent would allow their underage sons to spend the night and sleep in the same bed with a grown man who was once accused of sexual molestation?

Finally! Thank you, Richard.Knowing his history why would any parent let their child near a 45 year old man who's been accused of child molestation in the past.It boggles the mind!

I don't think a single accusation should be the criteria for not allowing a person to have children near but there are so many other relevant facts here. One that stands out glaringly is that he only ever really shares his bed with boys. Little girls don't receive the same attention as the boys. Warning flags ahead!!!
