THE BEST AWARDS ACCEPTANCE SPEECHES:

List 'em here:

Mine has 2 be Bono's verbal tongue-lashing of President Chirac at the 1995 MTV Awards in Paris.

Obviously upset by the country's recent nuclear tests, Bono came onstage smiling to accept an award. The audience were brilliantly fooled by his perfectly delivered sarcasm:

"What a city!" (cheers and applause),

"what a night!" (cheers and applause),

"...what a bomb!" (confused laughter and applause),

"what a mistake..." (mixed response),

"...what a WANKER you have for President!" (cue sporadic boos).

clapping Poetic genius. thumbs up!

stymie

I loved Michael Moore's speech at the Oscars last year and I loved Tom Hanks' speech when he won the Oscar for Philadelphia.

I liked Prince's speech at the Brit Awards in 1994/1995?

Prince...best?

The Gold Experience...better

On record...slave

In concert...perfectly free

Peace & Be Wild

Even Michael Jackson was confused. It was so silly.

His acceptence award at the Essence awards??? Where he
simply sood in a tape of a rhyme over the My Medallion
beat was hilarious

I don't know
why I win awards,
I can't lie
I only know 2 chords
I don't know
But I'm over-joyed
If I could just get signed
Instead of unemployed

Thank you, just the same
Love U
and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

i'd have to go with Halle... Despite the backlash she recieved from it...

Other good ones were Christine Lati's bathroom mishap at the Gold Globes when Robin Williams went up and paged her..

and last year during the Film Critics Association awards when Jack Nicholson and Daniel Day Lewis tied for best actor..Robin Williams (up for One Hour Photo) was asked to come up by Jack and Daniel and presented the envelope...Robin went on a five minute rant about how wonderful it felt to be the only nominee *not* to win something...awww man it was the funniest thing i have ever seen on tv...Jack got into it and they both turned and looked at Daniel who was just shocked at the two hams actions...Classic awards show moment...
Space for sale...
