Went to the doctor today. I have an earache.

I was given some Amoxicillen (sp?) and a pain killer (800mg Ibuprofen).

I got bitched at by the doctor for waiting so long to come see her. It's been seven days since this shit started buggin', and I hate going to the doctor. I guess I could have fucked up my eardrum, or something like that...

Oh welll, hopefully things will improve. This shit hurts like a mother-fucker!

The title of your thread made me laugh because I have had an eye AND ear infection for the last week or so.


I have had 5 ear infections in the last 6 months and I know from experience that when you let them go the pain is intolerable. In September due to a holiday and the weekend I let one go so long that eventually I could barely tolerate being alive.

In fact I went to the ENT today to see if the new earmedication was working since the antibiotics are not working for me. It turns out they are, but I felt like I was ripped off as I was in the office for less then 2 minutes. He just looked in my ear and said, "Yep the new medicine seems to be working. Come back if the infection comes back." I'm sure the office visit will cost like $100. Thank God for insurance.

Ear infections are NO joke. Left untreated they can lead to deafness!

And antibiotics are becoming less and less useful since they are being used in producing every genetically modified chicken, cow, egg, milk, vegetable, etc. producing superviruses that are impermeable to traditional antibiotics.

Glad you finally made it to the doctor. I would advise anyone who is feeling any weirdness in their ear to get it checked out.

Sophomore year of high school I had two earaches at the same time. And then when I was in grade school I somehow sprained both ankles at the same time.

Oral antibiotics take 2 to 3 painful days to work. Make sure you take the entire bottle because the tendency is to stop taking the pills when the hurt stops.
