What do you think about MTV now?


OK, I am watching MTV right now and I see some of the worst commercialism and hear the worst comments I've ever heard! It's annoying when I just saw somebody say something like Brittany Spears is THE best live performers EVER who can just "nail it"...huh??? I force myself to watch MTV because I'm in the MUSIC industry and I'm curious about what is going on. MTV isn't about music anymore really though, it's more just about pop culture and promotion. OK, I'll just stop right there for now. Take care everybody! :+)

95% of it I could do without.

I think the FCC should make it illegal for them to transmit that nonsense through the airwaves!

I know what you mean but that makes me think they should start a new channel. Umm... do you know that MTV owns Spike TV? I think they could put some programming on there. Some of it would make more sense since Spike TV runs about the same 6 or 7 shows all day! hehe

MTV Stinks. It all started when it became "MTV UK & Ireland" as opposed to "MTV Europe".
I can't stand the amount of commericials and disposable BS that's on there.

MTV is not even about the "M" anymore. If you wanna get the musical, you gotta watch MTV2.

But I liked watching MTV back in the 1980's. That was back when it mattered.

MTV is a huge marketing gimmick full of eye/ear-candy to put the teenage demographic into a frenzy to spend tons of cash on music that doesn't matter. Tell 'em what they want to hear, and they'll gobble it up.

MTV sucks it's all about VH1 Soul.

MTV Australia is a lot different from what you guys get I think.
We do get some of the shows that you guys have...but there is a lot more videos to go with it as well.
