There is a tree that is directly behind my house along the border of the yard. There are three men outside who have a ladder. There is one guy who is climbing up the tree who has a harness around him that is being held by one of the guys who is on the ground. The guy who is climing up the tree is stripping off the bark of the tree as he goes up.

I have a good mind to go outside and nicely ask them why they are doing this. Seems silly to be stripping bark off of a tree without a darn good reason. At first I thought maybe they were rescuing a cat that was stuck up the tree, but I don't see one. :Hmm2:

I want to know what the hell is going on and why they are doing this!

maybe they are gonna whip each other with the bark.

That would be kinda kinky and fun to watch if the guys were attractive (which they're not).

probably stripping/trimming dead bark and branches.

strippin tree bark? i suppose one of the guys needs a bit more roughage in their diet, so they're gatherin up some bark to add to their bowl of shredded wheat.

Okay, now the guy is down from the tree. They have a rope attached to the tree near the top, and all three are down on the ground, pulling on the rope, like they're trying to bring the tree down. That does it, I'm going out there!!

OH GOD!!! They are cutting the tree down, they have a huge saw and are cutting into it. I can't bear to watch. That poor tree!!!

It all seems a bit barking mad! I think U should say something but U might be barking up the wrong tree!

Actually, I live in a condo, so it's on what they call "common grounds", so I guess it's kind of everybody's tree.

I did go outside and talked to the three guys who cut it down. It didn't take much time at all to get the tree to fall, and it made a huge crash when it fell.

The guys told me that the tree was dead, and also that it knocked the power out, so that is why the condo association president asked that it be cut down. It's still sad to see it come down, dead or not.
