I haven't seen it yet, so don't ruin it for me. NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.

I've seen it, and I have to say I loved it!
I loved the first Matrix (it's one of my all time favorite movies). I enjoyed the second one, but had reservations about it (I didn't think it hung together as a movie as well as it could). I felt Revolutions completed the story perfectly. I don't want to give anything away, but I really liked the ending, and if you're familiar with the history of The Matrix as told in the Animatrix and Reloaded, then you can probably guess how it does. EVERYTHING THAT HAS A BEGINNING HAS AN END. [This message was edited Wed Nov 5 10:13:00 PST 2003 by BorisFishpaw]

I'm going to see it after work today. Hopefully, it will be better than Reloaded. I was very disappointed. I'll keep an open mind about Revolutions.

Me too I was disappointed as well. It was very hard to follow, IMO.

Me too I was disappointed as well. It was very hard to follow, IMO. I understood the plot revolutions, but I can understand it to be hard to follow.. But I really think they HAD to throw all the in between formats for the movie on that 2nd one, I really dont think the third movie is gonna be hard to follow at all.. its basically and ending to what u've previously seen in the 1st and 2nd.. I hope to see it this weekend

its all over!!! no more matrix!!
better than reloaded, time passes quicker, not as good as the 1st 1 tho

i enjoyed reloaded. i liked the concept of what neo and co. thought was being outside the matrix was actually just another matrix designed unto itself. those sneaky writers...

Er... The first one was fair, but with awesome special effects.
The second one SUCKED ASS with only fair special effects. ...The pattern doesn't bode well for the third film, but I'll see it with my fingers crossed. As long as I get to finally see Niobe kick ass, I'll be moderately satisfied. Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

"Revolutions" is getting pretty bad reviews. Sci-Fi geeks probably won't care though. I think the "Matrix" movies are VERY overrated...but being an avid William Gibson fan, this is the closet we've ever had to a "Neuromancer" movie.
I still think Cronenburg's "ExistenZ" is a FAR superior movie (I know I'm in the minority on THAT one...)

Even though I loved it, I was listening to other people coming
out of the theatre after the movie and opinion was pretty split down the middle, just like it was for Reloaded. One word of warning... Revolutions starts exactly where Reloaded finished, and it spends NO time explaining whats happened. So you have to be 'up to speed' on the events so far to really follow the story. Like Kill Bill, Reloaded and Revolutions are very much one big movie cut in half.

i saw matrix I and II and plan to see III. keanu takes a lot of crap for his acting but i like him anyway, and the matrix series is an interesting concept imo

I'm not a huge fan, but the first Matrix, at least, is definitely going to go down in history as one of the most standard-setting action flicks in history. You should see it if only from a cultural literacy standpoint. [This message was edited Wed Nov 5 15:43:40 PST 2003 by Lammastide] Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

The Matrix completely re-invented science-fiction (just as Moulin Rouge reinvented the movie musical), so I respect it for that. But I think the movies are vastly overrated. Something that is VERY cool about them is that it got people thinking about how we perceive reality. It got ordinary people thinking about existentialism--which is pretty fucking cool. And being as William Gibson's "Neuromancer" was never turned into a film...The Matrix at least fills the void for cyberpunk fantasy.

OK, I just got back from seeing it...
While it had a some forgivable cliches and flaws -- and a fairly hokey ending rife with the most obnoxious religious allegory we've seen in the entire series -- I honestly have to say I came away suprisingly satisfied. Good performances (FAR superior acting than the first two), a riveting war scene (I actually was moved, worried, pained, inspired, etc.) and solid, well-paced exposition. I think the final fight scene could have been a bit more mind-blowing as the series climax, but the first Matrix will be tough to top for years to come where hand-to-hand combat in film is involved. I give it a solid B. (And coming from a cynic like me, that says a lot). Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

I forgot... not enough bullet time or Jada (but she was on point when they did use her). Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

Incredible movie. I would not worry about what the critics say. They hated Scarface and the Godfather when they were first released and generally just love to be cynical. I do believe Cornell West summed it up best- "there are many different levels to the Matrix, some people will leave with three others with a hundred and three, it's totally up to the viewer-" Which in itself is genuis and is probably the reason why most critics dislike it, hard to unravel a puzzle when you don't know what the pieces are suppose to form.
In short the Matrix is as dense or as shalllow as you want it to be. 1 over Jordan...the greatest since

You have GOT to be kidding, you get yourself round HMV ASAP and buy the DVD. 2nd one was very disapointing, hope for the third to be better. I really, really enjoyed it. After being disappointed with the second Matrix, this one more than made up for it. It is a visually beautiful movie and I finally got the religious references and comparisons that folks have been making.

I found it satisfactory.
It was never going to be as good as the others, by virtue of the fact that it doesn't leave you with as many questions... but there was some great action sequences, some cool bits, and fans of the series won't be too disappointed. A tad cheesy at times, especially at the ending, but overall I enjoyed it.

not a matrix fan yall...sorry. lol @ hooey. I liked the first movie, but when commercials for the 2nd started showing and I realized that a million movies had copied its style, I got sick of the format. Haven't seen the 2nd one and don't plan on seeing the 3rd.
