So today at 9 pm I was about to get in my car... and on my way to the car, I saw a cop car. They were just sitting there eatin donuts and talkin on their cell phones keepin the car runnin so tax payers can pay $1.95/gallon for the gas in their cruiser

Anyway, I got in my car, buckled up and drove off. They decided they were gonna drive too. Cool. I obeyed all traffic stops and lights, turned right and drove about 10 blocks.

10 blocks. Obeying all traffic stops, etc.

Then they turned on their lights. So I pull to the side thinking they need to pass, but they pull behind me. What the fuck?

Okay so this aint new. We know the drill. Busta rhymes style put yo hands in the air where I can see type a shit. They come out their car and start flashing their flashlights all in my face and car, so I can barely see anything or their face or their badge number or their name.

Dude asks me for license and registration which I provide. And he looks at my license and is like, "Um where are you from?" I say "Maryland" He says no, where are you really from. Annoyed I say "Maryland." Then he looks at me and is like "No your ethnicity... you don't look like you from here." WHATTHEFUCK!?!?!?!?!?!

So I say I am and my name is one of those names... cuz my ppls was on the no slave name kick.

So he goes back to his squad car. And 10 minutes later comes back and is like, "Okay here you go. Have a nice day."

I'm like WHAAA? You's a FOO! (In my mind of course cuz I aint gonna be asking why cant we all get along and my name aint Rodney).

So I say, Um, can I have your badge number. And he starts getting belligerent with me. "Why do you need it?" "Because I really don't understand why I got stopped and I would just like to make a note of this."

So then he steps back from my car and looks at me and is like "Well let's see... hmmm, we could get you on wrecklessly changing lanes (me pulling over when they put their lights on) or ummm." So I see where he's going. So I say "never mind."

And he's like "Is there a problem." And I was like "Well what was up with the questions about ethnicity." So then he starts pointing at his skin getting all defensive, saying "See this I'm your color (he was latino) so I'm just wondering if you are from the same country I am or if you speak the same language." Okay, Umm my name is NOT velazquez or rodriguez or anything CLOSE TO THAT. So I'm like what the fuck. How lame is that bull shit!

Anyway, I'm like whatever dude. And he goes back to his car and I wait til they drive away so I could at least get the car number.

I have this info now and they are from the precinct headquarters that are around the corner from my house. I fear tho--by his attitude--that if I report the stop, I may come out one day to find my tires slashed or some other bullshit.

See this is why I say fuck the police. I do not care what the fuck color you are if you got on a cop uniform I'm gonna be suspicious of yo ass. Niggas be gettin a uniform (and I mean all niggas--white black brown) and start thinkin like friggin gestapo.

I'm really sorry you had to deal with that today. I hope you report it, but I understand if you don't.

I remember a few years back when I owed a car that was lowered, tinted windows and rims. Cops use to pull-up behind me running-in my plates trying to see if they could bust me for any little thing.

i have a friend that's a cop (he's about to quit and go back to school to teach special ed), and he gets pissed off by this kind of shit all the time. the type of stupid bullshit that give all cops a bad name. he says they harrass people for a power kick or just because they're bored 90% of the day.

A few years back, I got stopped when I was walking around the block. It was almost 10 at night. They had NOTHING on me -- no reason at all, no suspects they were looking for, nothing. And the guy tells me to take my hands out of my pockets (it was cold), calls for backup, asks me all kinds of questions to start a fight with me: "Why you out for a walk? Just got in a fight with your girlfriend? You didn't just beat her up, did you?" I said, "What? No." I was for sure they were gonna take me to jail the way they were trying to start a fight, but I played it cool and they didn't. At first they acted like they didn't know me, but when I pointed at the house I owned they said, "Yeah, we've seen you around." So why'd they pull me over? I think they just wanted to check out the man who lives with that pretty blonde girl. Stupid.

But I know how you feel. It's like when I got arrested for stealing my own car. Just stupid. I'd reported it stolen like 4 years prior to this stop. My slick rick brother made extra keys...ok make a long story short...report the car stolen cause I got my keys, car gone, police come, make report, brother shows up with car, call police, brother made keys, got my car right here, yes miss, we'll take care of it, four years later car towed, me off to jail, call husband for car title, out of jail after paying $100 bond, get car back after $200 tow/storage fee, wrote a really nasty letter to chief of police, go to court, stupid popo sitting behind information desk at courthouse, case dismissed...stupid dump cluck. They should really be psychologically evaluated every 6 months.

I feel ya dawg, reminds me of a time when ...

I was at the lake with my girl late at night, waiting of the moon to rise and all of a sudden a policeman appears with a flash light, shines it on us while he's telling us the beach is closed. We're like cool, fuck it we'll leave (like we had a choice) so anyways as we're walkin up the beach he points out an area that he said was okay for us to chill at and said it was cool since he was the only one patroling the area, so we decided to take him up on his offer.

About 15 mins later he comes back and calls me by my first name and pulls me to the side and tells me that my license was revoked (long story) well my revocation was because I my paid inusrance late (SR-22 ) Well anyways he's tells me he can't let me drive away from the area, then I tell him that's ok I'll let my girlfriend drive, he then demands to see her license, but she doesn't have it on her. So, he takes down her name and runs it to make sure she's okay to drive, which she was. I was fuming because this part of town "Whitefish Bay" (Whitefolks Bay)is notorious for harrasing people of color. This pissed me off because he ran a check on my license plates while I wasn't driving and made the offer to let us stay in a designated area so he could.

Well a week later I was driving through the same part of town and I look up and see the lights flashing in the rearview, so I pull over to see what was up and it was the same cop who gave us shit the prior week. He comes up to the window and says I thought that was you, then asks me if my license were reinstated (which they were) and tells me he's gonna run a check and see if it was and if not he'd send me a ticket by mail. You'd think he'd run the check first.

I have millions of stories like this.
