i just saw an ad campaigning an anti-piracy message. it showed all the people involved in movie making, from the concession stand girl to the boom guy to the director. it would have been a decent attempt except for the fact that each person spoke and said what their benefits are from working in the industry...and how they are being taken away because of piracy.

one girl says how she pays her student loans off, a sound guy talks about his health benefits and they mention some other things in there as well. my only question is this: why should i pay 8.75 for a movie, 3.75 for a small soda, 3.00 for a small popcorn when i can watch it at home and have a .79 bag of jiffy pop and a 2 litre of soda for about 1.50? 43 million americans don't have health insurance. most of them weren't even fortunate enough to have school loans because they are denied an education due to poverty. and i'm supposed to worry about steven spielberg's best grip?

sounds like a hollywodd ending to me...aka, bullshit.

funny how when every other industry is seeing a downturn (along with the rest of the economy) last year and this year, Hollywood continues to, year after year, boast record box office receipts. and THEY'RE talking about being ripped off.

they can piss n'moan all they wanna...there'll still be piracy, regardless.

we have this commerical on our cable about cable theft...and one has George Forman...its hilarious...it goes something like "Listen folks stealing cable is a crime...it makes me mad and YOU dont wanna make me mad!
